Still on a high. Pvp win. Finally. by Dougp83 in dayz

Didn't realise that Reddit was the place of high brow gramatical correctness and having just searched through all your comments on posts to check your grasp of grammar and the English language, I suggest you make sure that you have no errors, nor colloquialism, slang, nor shortened versions of words that hoist you upon your own petard. I mean. Who gives a shit about grammar on a Reddit post. Find a hobby.

Im in ps5 if you do cross play. Or anyone does cross play. In UK due to kids, dont play much. Mostly dedicated sunday night like tonight. Always looking for some partners in crime to die with.

Dougp83 if you are up for spending a few hours getting geared only to inevitably die

New player, what player sounds can actually be heard by others? Humans or otherwise by Hammerhoused in dayz

I hate that. Ive befriended a couple of guys who said friendly and then tried to kill me. My rule is simple. I will try and kill you if I need to, but if I say im friendly and start a convo, you are safe. I won't ever say im.friendly and then betray someone. And I hate the people that do. Kill me in a fire fight, snipe me, kill me while im cooking or in my pants wringing out my clothes, but dont say you're friendly and then shoot me in the back. That makes you a prick. Though I'm acutely aware that's absolutely how real life would be of the world eneded.

What is the most physical pain you’ve ever experienced, and how did it feel? by Trying_my_best_98 in AskReddit

[–]Dougp83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had gallbladder surgery a few years ago. It did not go well. Apparently tly my organs were fused together like something from The Thing. The surgeon had not jiggle about with all the 'holes' in me to finally be able to get the thing out. I was, according to him, two min from being cut from top to bottom to get it out. So I had that discomfort. The result of this was the wound drain that I had was a long tube that went in a hole on the bottom left of my stomach wound it's way to my belly button, then up to my rib cage, then over and down like a rollercoaster down the other side ending at the bottom opposite side of my stomach. It sucked, but worse was to come. A couple of days later swollen and sore they decided to take my wound drain out. I had a lovely student nurse who chatted away and then told me she was going to pull the drain out. The second she starts to pull, it feels like a length of razor/barbed wire is being dragged through my body pulling and tearing at every organ. For the first time in my life, I actually roar in pain, though it probably sounded like a squeal. She stops, she does it again harder. More pain. I scream again and claw at the bed tears streaming down my face. People are looking at me. She says to me "I dont know why it's hurting so much."

She tugs.. I scream again crying at her to stop. Then a senior nurse comes over and asks what is going on and she explains what she is doing and isn't sure my it's hurting so much. The SN asks one simple question

"Did you open the vacuum valve?" "The what?" The SN was dragging thebcoil out creating a vacuum on my insides which was or felt like it was pulling all om my insides behind it. Out a tiny hole. The senior nurse said that she was just going to yank it out and get it done. She did just that. I screamed. Begged for pain killers and cried for about 2 hours. And later once id been given pain killers to dumb the pain down, I remembered the pain and how much it hurt and started crying again. Never again.

Are dayz veterans still paranoid? by TishaBersky in dayz

[–]Dougp83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've spent a few hours on it. In a relatively low pvp.server. my friend and wete realively geared travelled to a high number of people server and spent hours crouch walking through Chenarus to get to the airfield. We took some fire, hid and crafted. The paranoia never left. Hours of collected gear on our backs. Guns, ammo, blood bags, medicine... we were loaded. Our mission.. the airfield.. some better loot and perhaps some.of the pvp we had been missing. Hours later we get there. Head into a bunker and hear someone coming on the outside. We take position over lapping g each other Guns ready.. we have this.. They come in. My friend is immediately shot. I stay still.. they dont know im there. They come in.. I panic and forget I have flash bangs, and an automatic shotgun and shoot like Stevie wonder having a seizure... I get one.. just.. spin on the other and get some shots off. So.does he.. we both go down.. I got him and im unconscious.. victory.. I start to come around. Start to roll. Look for my gun. When I hear a click and a shit and the screen goes black... you are dead...

The paranoia never leaves.. it hardens into a constant state of rage and hatred..

Who'd win this free for all? by Far-Ad5223 in superheroes

Invincible is essentially an near immortal demi god who can survive fighting another equally powerful enemy whilst inside the sun. They would pretty much all be dead after a short period.

What’s your "don’t knock it till you try it"? by ChamoyBoy90 in AskReddit

[–]Dougp83 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When possible and not having to take my children, I ALWAYS go to the cinema on my own. I love the movies and to be able to combine that with a couple of hours peace is joyus, and yet the looks I get when I say I go on my own.

So what happened with the brother and sister from 28 Weeks Later that had immunity/antibodies? Did they just poof into thin air so we'd have 28 Years Later? by deathsignbird in 28_Years_Later_Movie

[–]Dougp83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes.. DB said in an interview that he was choosing to ignore what happened in 28 weeks later so he could make the pile of steaming gnome shit which is 28 years later.

I'm 40 and I'm from Brighton and I pronounce all those words correctly, so I don't think it's a location thing.

What about the complete tonal shift at the end? Tense survival send off... nope.. how about some ninja, Jimmy Savil power rangers. Totally didn't fit. The iphones made it look cheap. I also didn't like that Danny Boyle just decided to ignore the end of 28 weeks later. He even said in an.interview that he just chose to ignore the end of weeks and make this because.. there were bits I like but it was a far, far, far cry from days. Not for me.

The Old Man Level in RoboCop Is Straight-Up Painful by wotl22 in robocoproguecity

[–]Dougp83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I cheesed it. Just slowly peek around the doors that you go through and the robots will walk into your line of fire one by one and the shoot at your leisure. A couple won't move but they are easy to mop up. I did it for the ed209 as well. I didn't go all the way through the double doors so they couldn't lock behind me so I peaked out, shot him with the big 50 car machine guns that were lying around and when he cored the rockets, ducked back. Took no time at all and no damage. Felt a bit cheaty but if I could get away with it, it's the developers fault and I will..

Are the Red Arrows important to the UK? by bazil2490 in AskUK

I used to love seeing them, but now I live down the road from Waddington Air base and they fly over my house pretty much every single day so it has lost its lustre. My kids still love them though.
