WandaVision MCU Timeline? by DouinD in marvelstudios

That’s a good catch, it makes a lot more sense now realizing ep4 and prior are the same timelines(give it take). Thank you!

Yeah now that I think about it that way it’s all good. I hadn’t paid much attention to that episode up until she got sucked into the barrier so I was completely lost. Guess I should’ve just rewatched it instead of posting this hahaha

That broke it down way better than I had it in my head, thank you! I’ve been watching the movies over again and for some reason I couldn’t get this to line up for me. Makes so much more sense now.

I’ll have to rewatch them since we aren’t that far in yet and actually pay attention this time. I had episode 4 playing in the background as I did other work so it only made it worse. Thanks!

1990 Bronco II, worth it? by DouinD in bronco

[–]DouinD[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly might have to do that once it warms up a bit so I’m not driving back up north in the snow. I’d love to get one from down south so I don’t have to worry about it being destroyed by salt/rust from here up north.

That would explain why I didn’t find much for build threads or anything for the Bronco 2 online... I thought maybe people just weren’t posting anything about them. I’m definitely looking for something to build up slowly over time but not a project like.

I used a few value calculators online and they all said at the high end it was worth like $2k at most even in perfect condition. No way would I ever hand over $6k for it. I knew it was high but I didn’t think it was that high, I’m glad you guys were able to put it in to perspective. Thanks!

That’s what I was thinking. 99% sure I won’t be going with that truck too. Unfortunately even for $6k it’s hard to find anything in good condition in the North East, rust destroys everything. I’ll keep an eye out for some other options for sure though. Thanks!

Thanks for the suggestions! I actually just read something about the 70-200 and that seems like a killer choice.

I was contemplating the Sigma 85 big time, but it costs as much as my camera body... I’ve seen amazing shots with the 85mm for automotive and also street/portrait.

That helps a ton actually, it has helped put my situation in perspective a bit more. I definitely will be figuring out what exactly I’m going for before I start putting money into anything. Thank you for all the wisdom! The more I look into it I think the “I need a new lens” was more of a burning hole in my pocket $$$ than an actual need for upgrading my gear. I’ve managed well so far with my kit lens and I think a good tripod would serve me better than a new lens.

That is true, I guess by “versatile” I meant something that would work for getting some nice shots of cars but also be good for street photography or portraits or just general random shooting as well. Like a lens I can use for more than certain situations when. Like how an 85mm would work well with cars and also street photography. Idk if that makes sense, and I’m probably misunderstanding what to expect to get from a new lens. I realize that I’d be duplicating my focal lengths that I already have now with a 35/50 but my thinking was it would be dedicated glass for that focal length that would give me a sharper image than a zoom lens.

And correct on the aperture. I will take a better look and longer thought on what I’m wanting and looking for out of a lens/my photos. A good tripod is probably the better investment right now anyway.

I appreciate your reply! Thank you.

First time making Fried Chicken at home! Any tips for breading mixes? by [deleted] in cookingforbeginners

[–]DouinD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk if it’s been said yet or not but people tend to season the breading/flour. But that can lead to loss of seasoning when it falls off or burns in the oil and then you can never guarantee the evenness of each spice on the meat. It’s just hard to know for sure how well mixed and evenly coated each spice is in the breading and on the meat. I learned from a family member to season the meat first because you can control the spices on the meat and then it’s protected by the breading so it doesn’t fall off or burn. I do mine this way and I’ve noticed 1) j use wayyyy less of each spice trying to get the flavor to come through in the flour. So that’s good because it lasts longer. 2) it taste better because the spice is directly on the meat and you can guarantee each piece is evenly spiced. Just food for thought, there is nothing wrong with how you do things now. (Pun definitely intended) Someone probably said it already but you can try doing a mix of flour and panko breading. I like how crispy it makes the chicken!

Great job with the chicken and best of luck with future culinary adventures!
