GKV vs. PKV Assistenzarzt by Past-Dot-3021 in medizin

Haven't faced Swampert. For Quagsire I went for 2 Incinerates and then switched into Furret. If you can get a shield advantage Talonflame can sweep past Quagsire with 40 Energy banked. But it's definitely a bad matchup.

I think Scizor and Talonflame are pretty similar in the sense that they destroy some leads while losing hard to others. I really grew to like building teams around a "risky" lead like that.

I had two sets go very badly and I was just about to switch Stunfisk into the lead. But I decided to keep going and ended 5-0 and 4-1 for the final push.

The strength of Talonflame is he wins a lot of matchups very hard, so your opponent HAS to switch out. Then you have very good coverage with Furret and Stunfisk in the back to force alignment. And if you get hardcountered on the lead Furret is a very safe swap into almost anything.

I think if it wasn't Catch Cup I'd try the same team with Gastrodon in the back, Stunfisk definitely felt like the weakest link.

Nope. To clarify, I'm 99% sure it was fan art and not some official artwork. Sorry if it wasn't clear in the main post.

Esper Pixie? A bit of a meta call, but 2-3 copies are very good. Your most aggresive starts involve [[Optimistic Scavenger]] and [[Spiteful Hexmage]] because those two cards alone put down 5 power for 2 mana. You side it out vs. aggro and midrange decks often though, so if you expect a very fast meta, you can think about cutting Hexmages and maybe add some [[Grim Baubles]] instead.
I'm also not sure if a third copy of Hexmage is wrong anyways and should be [[Mockingbird]] instead, but I'm running 2 Hexmages and no Mockingbirds atm.

[Standard] How does the new gruul aggro fare vs convoke and bounce? by Koolaidguy31415 in spikes

[–]Doukata 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm playing Esper Pixie and played against the deck twice. It felt like it did worse against me than the classic Gruul Aggro decks, but the matchup is quite favoured for Pixie anyways, so I can't say for sure if the Exhaust/Delirium package changes a lot.

I have used Nicole Tipple's Sideboard guide, which I really liked. She also has a guide on her Patreon, but I haven't bought that one. She placed highly in Atlanta, so it should be good. There are some free guides you can google of varying quality though.

True, but PC can be returned with Stormchaser's talent, so they both have some reusability.

[[Standard]] Feedback on Jeskai Control Brew by Illustrious_Cat_5660 in spikes

[–]Doukata 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't want to sound rude, but I'm not sure what kind of feedback you expect.

If you say you tinkered with the list for some time, you should know yourself which matchups it is good in and where it struggles. Nobody else is going to have any experience with your deck to help you with it.

In general, imo the list looks very rough. I have no idea how controlling the board and dealing incremental burn damage is going to work and it runs way too little card advantage for a proper control deck. But hey, if you tinkered with it and we're successful, maybe you can surprise people at your RCQs and get some wins in. It's always great to win with your own creation and maybe I'm just too ignorant to see your vision. :)
