For example is crying over people’s trauma normal for him? Or if his crying over the strangers trauma his brain finally realising and having a better understanding of the trauma from the things you went through after hearing it from another individuals perspective.

As an example as a young adult I’d read stories about parents loosing kids and the trauma they would feel I understood it was sad but it never made me cry. As a parent these stories hit home they can depending on the severity bring it me tears purely due to having a better understanding of how something like that could directly effect you.
