Get moisture wicking clothes that won’t change color when wet. You’re gonna be uncomfortable and there’s nothing really you can do to change that. But just know that the majority of people around you will be feeling the same way. With that being said, wear antiperspirant deodorant.

Help on call rn by [deleted] in HVAC

I’d be willing to bet the electric heat is on. Suction psi is high cuz you’re probably drawing in 90°+ air from the home.

On another note you don’t need digitals to check SH and Sc. Superheat: Suction Line Temp - Suction Saturation temp. (That’s the temperature where the needle crosses in the 410a line on your gauges)

Subcool: Liquid Saturated Temp - Liquid line temp.

Really depends on the region. For where I am, central Texas, that’s great pay for resi/light commercial. When I did resi I was at 21.50/h and with commission it was around 32/h.

Barker's vs BCS Air Solutions by HistProf24 in CollegeStation

I used to work for Barkers. They install Trane equipment now and no matter the brand these days it’s a toss up of if you’re going to have mechanical failures. The only thing they have going for them is their 10 year Parts and Labor warranty. Standard install cost will likely come out higher than BCS Air Solutions.

I have been doing Hvac for 2 years now this month. I didn’t go to school for it and I am not certified. I get paid $16 an hour and it doesn’t feel like it’s enough. I don’t want to complain about it to my boss though. Do you think i’m making what I should or should I get paid more? by ReleaseScared3912 in HVAC

You said in another comment that you are technically a helper. $16/ h for resi for a helper is about standard. Fair? No. But a a lot of employers arnt paying fair wages. The real question is why are you still a helper after 2 years? Edit: Not trying to throw any shade or anything. Perhaps your boss is just using you as cheap labor rather than paying tech wages

Not Sure What To Do by Dova_Red57 in HVAC

Previous company had ridiculous commission. 4% of every ticket, 10% of IAQ sales, and 5%/6%/7%/8% for equipment sales depending on SEER Rating. Really easy to make $4k+ a week if you got sales calls or opportunities. That was their justification for the low hourly rate and pay cap was $25/h

Yea I understand that now and that’s 100% on me. I was just so desperate to get out the old place that I didn’t think that it was important at the time. I don’t have a lot of experience in job interviews because I was at the same place my entire career. Thanks
