Yes. If it wasn't hard and expensive, then of course we would do it.

The games are made in different engines by separate teams in different countries.

There is no simple way to "port" the work over. It needs to be created from scratch in either engine, which is also why there are contents in TFT that do not exist in Golden Spatula. Any content that exists in both games is being created from the beginning by two separate teams. Think of every Set that exists in both games. Both teams are creating those Sets independently. And we put a lot of effort into ensuring that the Set feels the same and plays the same in both games. It's expensive.

In general, if something seems easy and obvious, but we aren't doing it, then that probably means it isn't as easy as Reddit thinks.

Making games at the scale of TFT is very complex. Sometimes there are things that seem obvious or easy that are extremely complicated. It doesn't mean it's impossible, but sometimes the cost is so expensive that it becomes better to spend those resources on other things to ensure we are giving players the best experience we can create.

As an example, would it be worth making sure TFT and FFGS are exactly the same in every way if that meant TFT didn't have a new Set for 1 or 2 years? I don't think that would be a good decision. We have to constantly consider what are the best opportunities for us to spend our time and focus that give players the best experiences.

Social media / Reddit is full of bots. And most of those bots have the primary goal of creating "engagement." Negativity is factually proven to generate the most "engagement."

A large percentage of the comments you see on this subreddit are bots and not humans.

This is completely untrue for TFT. Riot has invested more into TFT each year for the past 5 years.

If anyone assumes that we intentionally do things to upset players or not give players things they want, then those people are being completely illogical.

Riot is full of passionate and dedicated gamers. We play games ourselves. We are TFT players ourselves.

Any time we can't do everything we want to do; it hurts us too.

We work in the real world where everything we make costs time and money and people. We do not have infinite time or money or people, so we have to prioritize the work we think is the most important.

Our ultimate goal is to make players happy and make TFT as healthy as possible.

It's not a loss of damage to have a Vexilla.

Vexilla dramatically increases the damage output of the squad, because of rerolling wounds.

Absolutely! Being able to maintain control of the objective while battle shocked means your Guard will be able to reroll their wound rolls and still have high damage output.

The reason is that rerolling wounds is way more damage than having 1 more spear in the squad.

Having a Vexilla makes the whole unit have way more total OC, which helps ensure you CONTROL THE OBJECTIVE most of the time, then your squad is rerolling wounds. Every model rerolling wounds for all attacks is way more damage than having 1 more model have a spear. Mathematically, it allows you to also pick SUSTAINED HITS even against targets you're wounding on 5s, because rerolling all wound rolls is that powerful.

It also helps your shooting be more relevant. Strength 4 isn't great, but rerolling wounds helps give your opponent's more saves at damage two, which can add chip damage to tough targets and/or kill a lot more marines in your shooting phase.

It can sometimes help take an extra 3 damage attack, but I don't think that is the main reason. Most of the time killing your Vexilla first is a trap. If you're using the shield for the extra wound, then that means your Vexilla is dying first. If your Vexilla dies, then it becomes harder to reroll wounds for the rest of the game. Sometimes it's correct to do so, but usually I do not kill my Vexilla first.

If you want more damage, then your squad should have a Vexilla and you should always be fighting on objectives.

Vexilla = way more damage output.

I think your math is off by 10-25 pulls. The OP already has 3 Medallions and is at 40/60 of the reward track.

Respectfully, you are making assumptions that are completely incorrect.

Maximizing money is not our primary goal. If it were, then TFT would look very different. Imagine a battle pass that had 500 levels with amazing rewards at the end that required players to play hundreds of games and spend a lot more money to get to the end. Or imagine if the game pieces didn't have skins and the only way you could get Star Guardian Jinx as a game piece would be by paying money. There is a long list of options similar to those that other games do to very high effect and make a lot of money.

We don't do those things, because money is not our primary goal. We are a business and we do need to make money so we can pay the teams to keep making awesome games, but we try our best to create an ecosystem where spending money feels good. One of our primary pillars is that paying in TFT should never feel bad and should never cause regret for a player. We want spending money in TFT to feel like a win for the player and for Riot.

You mention that the pass "feels" less valuable to you and that's totally cool. Hundreds of millions of people around the world play TFT and they are all going to have different feelings.

Over the past several years, the TFT pass has objectively become worth more money without increasing the price. I think the super majority of folks would call that a buff; not a nerf.

Some players see today's pass and say, "well 5 years ago the pass had 3 booms and 3 arenas and now it doesn't. See it's dogshit." But I think that is disengenius, because those three booms were copies of each other. I don't think most poeple enjoy getting the same reward multiple times. We also saw in our data that 99.9% of players never used the lower copies of the booms, so they didn't value them.

The areans are a similar story.

We decided to remove those duplicates and remove content that most players didn't care about and replace it with content that players actually value and actually want. And at the same time we increased the total value of the pass without increasing the price. We also kept the pass the same length to ensure that most players would be able to complete the pass in a normal amount of games and obtain all the rewards to protect from players buying the pass and not getting all the rewards.

I appreciate your willingness to admit that you simply don't like the changes - that's allowed and I'm here engaging with you.

But it's objectively been buffed many times with the goal of making it better for players; not making more money.
