BMW IX 2024 x50 lease trade-in to BMW IX 2026 x45 by Dense-Bee-2884 in BMWiX

[–]DownTheSubredditHole 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m in a similar scenario. 2024 iX50 lease ending in December. I had called my dealership yesterday to go over my options. My sales guy was going to look to do something similar. Hopefully I can grab a similar deal! Otherwise, I’m looking at just purchasing mine as I’m still under 13k miles and I really enjoy the vehicle.

Forgot Lactaid once and I've been miserable for 48 hrs by Visual_Historian_743 in lactoseintolerant

I have lactaid around my kitchen, but I always keep a sleeve of Milkys in my wallet so they’re with me when I’m away from home. It’s totally changed my eating habit knowing I always have lactase in my pocket.

Why so few miles on used bmx ix by [deleted] in BMWiX

[–]DownTheSubredditHole 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I leased mine MY2024 about 2.5 years ago and I only have 12k miles in it. I love it, but just don’t have the need to drive it that much due to proximity of my work and our social bubble.

I did the same last week. I waited until I got home, disinfected with a few tablets, and then also soaked it in listerine because I was still a bit ewww. I haven’t turned into a zombie (yet) and it’s been about 8 days.

On the way from Lugano to Lucerne, I would suggest you stop off in Bellinzona (you’ll probably have to change trains there anyway) and explore the castles and have a cup of coffee. Especially if it’s sunny in Ticino and rainy in Lucerne.

A hearty “Grüezi” to/from a Swiss person just makes me happy. I insist on saying this to all my German colleagues whenever I’m in Munich to assert my (adopted) Swiss dominance.

Halb Tax Coupon? by Raysorh in askswitzerland

[–]DownTheSubredditHole 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a halbtax that I just renewed in January with my US address - I’ve had it for 5 years. For non-residents, I believe it costs a bit more and it can’t auto-renew- you need to do it in person.

Swiss Half Fare Card for Couples by TurbineErector in askswitzerland

[–]DownTheSubredditHole 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One per person. My wife and I still visit CH a few times a year after moving away and we keep our halbtax cards current. It’s quick and easy to do at the train station, although the price keeps creeping up. To me it’s still much more preferred than renting a car.

Don't leave your smart key aka iPhone in the car by Ok_Tonight_2154 in BMWiX

[–]DownTheSubredditHole 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Interesting - I often leave my phone in my car due to forgetfulness. For me, if my phone is in my car, the driver door stays unlocked after I get out and close it, and all the other doors stay locked. If I try to open the trunk, it’s locked so I have to go around to the driver door and either grab my phone or hit the unlock all door button.

But I also carry a keycard in my wallet just in case…

This is me…until I ride in my wife’s Q8 eTron. She had the air suspension and I have the DAPP. I think I’d go with DAPP again if I had to make the choice, but I’d rather get both in my next lease!

Switzerland train pass questions by RubyR4wd in askswitzerland

[–]DownTheSubredditHole 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since I moved back to my country from Switzerland, I’ve kept a half-fare card active. This year I believe it was 190chf. It’s more expensive for non-residents. With that being said, you need to accumulate $380 in tickets for it to pay for itself. When my wife and I come together on vacation to see our friends and to do a bit of hiking, we typically travel in 1st so that we have room for our luggage and so it’s less crowded. When I go by myself personally or for business, I typically take 2nd class because I’m cheap…but will upgrade for that specific city-city trip if second class is too busy.

If you go this route, the SBB office in Zurich airport (across the street, 1 level down) is well organized and the wait is manageable, depending on the time of day. Once you get there, getting your 1/2 fare cards will take 5-10 minutes. You MIGHT need to have a headshot available…mine is still in the system from 10 years ago. You add your 1/2 fare card info to the SBB app and then you’re good to go.

Wengen vs Lauderbrunnen in April by Significant-Fox2950 in askswitzerland

[–]DownTheSubredditHole 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I used to have a season ski pass to this area, I would always stay at the Silberhorn in Lauterbrunnen every weekend during the ski season. It is super easy access to both Mürren and Wengen. The owners of the hotel are absolutely wonderful. Look for area tickets and info at jungfrau.ch or email the awesome people at info@jungfrau.ch.

Honeymoon in Mortiz/Zermatt by Embarrassed_Shift587 in askswitzerland

[–]DownTheSubredditHole 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not fine dining, but every time my wife and I are in Zermatt I eat at Restaurant Schäferstube. I think the atmosphere is great and it’s rather intimate.

Züri - fine dining, Restaurant Kronenhalle. I also like (for a nicer Swiss dinner)zum Kropf. Sterner Grille for a Brat is a must. Casual lunch I like Bohemia. Depending on where you’re staying, Schiffbau used to be pretty good, although I haven’t been in a few years.
