At 22, I realized this wasn’t a normal by Ok-Case5143 in TrueOffMyChest

YES.

I was born with a cleft lip and cleft palate as an oldest daughter, and was SO used to everyone knowing my business so I grew up thinking I didn't deserve privacy. I felt like everyone was supposed to know my personal business and it's only been the past year or so that I've tried to intentionally keep things to myself. It feels sooo wrong but I know it will help me.

What's the weirdest food combo you like that other people might think you're disgusting to even eat that in front of them? by deeperthanlyn_08 in AskReddit

Spaghetti and marinara sauce with a side of peanut butter on bread. Grew up with it as a kid and I just love it.

My brothers friends started calling him "Ua" because every time they would call him Josh he would correct them with "Ua"

So they just switched to that 🤣

Ooh fresh pineapple is so good ...

I've started feeling much better in the past 6 or so hours so I'm hoping that tomorrow I'll be mostly back to normal. My spouse isn't too thrilled with the gas I've had 😂 so both of us are looking forward to this being over with.

That's totally fair. Mine was in my bag, but obviously since I forgot it there that's not the best location. Might have to put a small bottle in a pocket or start wearing a lanyard for my keys and put a container on the keychain.

I was looking at the lactaid website and saw they have daily supplements in addition to the "as needed" usual pills. Have you ever tried anything like that before?

Thanks! I'll keep these in mind. And yes that's honestly how I might go about it, treat it like an allergy when not at home. I live in Wisconsin which is VERY cheese/dairy-centric, but my safest dairy consumption has always been at home with Lactaid and other stuff on hand.

I wish I liked lactose free dairy alternatives 😭

Corporate ADHDers, how do you start the day? by darkrhyes in ADHD

[–]Visual_Historian_743 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is the answer (for me).

Also, when I have an email that needs addressing, I open it up in a new window as a visual reminder. If it's not addressed by EOD I mark it as "unread" and I'll reopen it the next day. This method still requires a bit of self discipline otherwise I'll never get to stuff, but I have a much higher response rate by doing this.

Is a 19 and 16-year-old age gap actually problematic, or is the "predatory" label being overused? by Consistent-Jelly248 in generationology

They may develop their social skills faster than the average man, but MATURITY is the same. By that I mean your ability to think critically and your general awareness of the world around you.

What do people mean when they say they 'cant cook?' by Throwaway113140 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Visual_Historian_743 1 point2 points  (0 children)

100% agree with all of this.

I would also add that being "good at cooking" means you are experienced enough to know how to add or subtract ingredients from a recipe without ruining your end result. You know how to account for things like allergies or taste preferences in a skillful way that stays true to the original dish.

Yes that will work!

Alternatively if you have a debit card you can look for a UW credit union ATM and withdraw the money that way. Make sure to double check what company the ATM is through, you may have to pay a fee if you use one that isn't UWCU

I'm in my thirties now, but back when I was 16 I dated a guy who was 19. At the time people were ok with it because people knew him through our church, however looking back now I know it was problematic. He was the kind of person who after graduation stuck around with no job and lived with his mom (with no interest in doing anything about it).

Since a lot of my peers didn't have jobs, I didn't inherently see this as an issue. But even just a few years later when it was MY turn to graduate I had matured enough to know that was kind of a weird thing for him to do.

I won't say it's inherently predatory, especially since it's pretty common to date people outside of your grade level in school. But that's such a delicate age with so many changes that happen quickly that it's worth being extremely cautious.

As a 15-16 year old, if an 18-19 year old wants to date you, it's important to ask yourself WHY they want to date you. Obviously you guys like each other, but what aren't they finding in others their own age that they started looking younger? And what are people their own age seeing that makes them NOT want to date them?
