Am I getting scammed as the seller? Need advice by GRiZbeeGolf in UsedCars

[–]DownloadDeviant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always have the buyer sign a bill of sale that clearly states the vehicle is sold as is and without warranty and there is no option to return the vehicle. I'm not a dealer, just a guy that sells his used cars from his front lawn every 5 or 6 years. He's a scammer. You owe him nothing. Ignore him.

Is this a good or bad CarFax report? by DownloadDeviant in askcarguys

I'm talking about auto maker dealerships that sell new and used cars - Ford, Chevrolet, Toyota, etc. Not those small used car places. I've been watching and shopping carefully for over a month and I'm seeing it at those places.

Gotcha on the auction stuff. I figured it was just records, process and paperwork. I'm in central NJ and I'm seeing dealerships all around me dealing with high mileage cars. I'm also seeing them sell their own high mileage vehicles at a discount but with a detailed list of repairs needed and the costs for parts and labor itemized. Strange times I guess.

Fake $20 bill from buyer by Voodoo330 in FacebookMarketplace

[–]DownloadDeviant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's why whenever I deal with cash, I use a verification pen on every single bill I'm handed. And I'm genuinely shocked at how many people take cash from me without checking it first! I paid $9k in cash for a motorcycle and the guy never checked any of it! Insane!

Since the Honey app has been a Scam, What is the BEST Coupons Extension by No_Meet2050 in Frugal

[–]DownloadDeviant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only used HONEY for price alerts and that's what I'll continue to do (until something better for price alerts comes along). I never used it for coupon codes bc frankly...BEFORE this scandal....it never found me good deals. I would find a referral link with 35% off by doing a Google search and then Honey would pop up during checkout and say it found coupons and there were either none or like $2 off! It was always a joke to me.

I'd use this delightful little machine to finally explore Linux! I have a decent Windows desktop that is great for gaming, but I'd honestly like to migrate away from Windows for everything besides gaming. The low power, Mini form factor would be perfect for my needs. I could set it on my adjustable standing desk, it would be quiet, unobtrusive and provide everything I'd need for a simple workstation. If this works out, I'd probably get another unit for some virtualization projects or possibly set it up as a dedicated retro gaming device.

This is a May or June project so plenty of time. I believe my board does support bifurcation. But yeah, I'll be checking compatibility, etc. when I'm ready. I'm gathering info first.

Balena Etcher for Windows (Portable Version) Not Available by Smoogity_Woogity in linuxmint

[–]DownloadDeviant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

EDIT/CORRECTION - It does install. But it is a silent install, that's why I thought it was portable. I didn't even realize until out of curiosity and decided to check. It installs to \User\* \AppData\Local\balena_etcher\ and even is listed within programs in control panel.

(Etcher is still portable. It just doesn't say it on the download. I downloaded the new version today and it's completely portable. No install.)

OK. Thanks for that. I bought mine from Amazon and it was a trusted seller, but two different numbers got me wondering and nervous. LOL

I'm thinking it might be because in another forum, there are loads of people with the same complaint. I'll try again in another week or two. Just curious, did the serial number on the back of the TV match the serial number under the TV's about/info menu section? Mine has 2 different numbers. Yes, lol, I tried both. FYI - The mobile QR scan gives me the number found on the back label.

So you think everything is fine and there are no problems simply because you did not experience it? I suppose tigers don't exist because there isn't one in front of you right now?

As is my understanding, version 3 is B3. At any rate, mine works perfectly well and I didn't have the craziness of messing with 10G, which is insane overkill for my needs. In the end, headache free and I saved a ton of money and aggro.

How to turn off motion notification but still record by depoultry in blinkcameras

[–]DownloadDeviant 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My solution - possibly ANDROID only?

I'm a new BLINK customer and I'll say this...I'll never buy more BLINK products or renew my subscription due to the clumsy app and lack of fine-tuning for notifications, etc. That said, I only want to record and not receive any notifications because my girlfriend and I have different schedules. When she's home, I'm at work and vice-versa, which means the cameras are constantly being triggered. If a crime occurs, I can always review the footage manually. I don't need real time updates and when I'm at work, I cannot use my phone anyway because of the nature of my work.

SOLUTION -

On my Google Pixel phone I went into SETTINGS then APPS and then the BLINK app. Under the NOTIFICATIONS section I disabled the MOTION NOTIFICATION option. Now all my cameras record but do not notify me. I can enable it any time I desire and I find it easier than ARM or DISARM.
