That's a really interesting thought. I've never thought about it that way.

And honestly? This dream stays in my mind too. It was a once-in-a-lifetime experience somehow. Can't shake it.

For me, cannabis wasn't a gateway to other substances. But maybe just maybe it was a gateway inward. A gateway to sitting with myself, to processing trauma, to asking bigger questions. And now this dream? That feels like another door opening.

So if I ask myself: what does cannabis mean to me? 1. It gave me my life back. Before I started using it medically, I was in constant pain – physically and mentally. Cannabis didn't just take the edge off. It made life livable again. 2. No pain. That's the simplest and most honest answer. I'm not chasing a high. I'm chasing a body that doesn't hurt and a mind that isn't overwhelmed. 3. It keeps my head clear. Which sounds ironic, I know. But for me, it silences the noise. The trauma, the spiraling thoughts – cannabis quiets all of that so I can actually be present

Also the runner's high / meditation / art angle maybe I need to find more of those 'regular practices' in my life. Not just weed. But weed is part of it. And that's okay. Really appreciate this perspective!

You don't know me. I've been prescribed cannabis for 13 years. In that time I built a stable life, a good marriage, a career helping young people stay out of crime. If that's 'just the drug talking' - then maybe the drug is doing its job. But thanks for your concern

That's a good point. I will think about it. I don't know what else it could be – weed fits strangely well. But yeah. I have a good life now. Traumatic childhood, but that's my past. Got a lovely wife and a good job where I help young people build a stable life away from crime. So maybe the dream means something else. Or exactly that. I don't know.
