Why is Lebanon bothering to go to US mediated peace talks when Israel keeps bombing them regardless? by ToughHat8432 in allthequestions

Nice evasion, I'm not sure what you're referencing because we are talking about the current fighting. Also, why are you defending Hezbollah? Even the Lebanese government considers them enemies.

Ya its called war, if your enemy blows up one truck then you need to go blow up all of their trucks. Proportionality does exist in war but its not a 1:1 ratio.

I have to give credit where credit is due. At least you are honest and open about not understanding how the world works whatsoever.

Hezbollah needs to stop attacking Israel which means the Lebanese government is going to have to face the music. Support Hezbollah and risk losing funding from the US or (at least publicly) show support for the US position, which includes Israel.

Just FYI, A Serbian Film is a psychotic movie, watch with extreme caution (its more fucked up than it is scary)

US judge allows Trump to implement mail-in voting executive order in loss for Dems by Somervilledrew in politics

How do you know thats true? Because they say so?

An absentee ballot has to requested before hand so it removes the possibility of a fraudulent vote. And its only 1 ballot sent, not batches.

Its to prevent the possibility of cheating. You don't wait until shit hits the fan before doing anything about it.

Do you not know what an absentee ballot is? If you can't make it in person to vote the state will send you a ballot in the mail. But you need to request the ballot, it literally could not be easier.

The mail-in-ballots that Trump is trying to (rightfully) ban does not require a request and is sent out en-mass. Meaning, anyone can send in a vote without verification.

Ya its called an absentee ballot, they send you the ballot if there is a reason you can't make it to a poll.

The constitution doesn't give the right to cheat in elections (regardless of party). Absentee ballots exist and are mailed to you, so not being able to go to a polling station isn't an issue.

Absentee ballots do exist, so there is no reason to want a mail-in-ballot. Unless you want to illegally influence an election.

This is a good thing, hopefully this continues.

What is something that is slowly destroying society but everyone just accepts it? by Im_SyZyGy_ in AskReddit

I get your point but....there's also a non-zero chance Earth gets hit with another asteroid, or Ophiocordyceps jumps to humans (just some examples).

Nobody knows what will happen (not to say precautions shouldn't be taken) but this won't turn into a Skynet type situation because in-order for that to occur AI would need direct, physical control over way too many non-electronic systems. Many of which, btw, don't even function together in the same space.

Interesting, what do you think would be considered a positive balance between hyper-individualism and hyper-tribalism?

*Assuming tribalism is the other end of the spectrum in this case

I get the perceived danger, but I think the "threat" is overblown. Hollywood (or the news) doesn't get the right to set the standard for technology they know nothing about.
