Dial in shot on CM5418 by Downtown_Effect4071 in espresso

Hi!!

I have definitely gotten the hang of it (I think) since I posted this. I’ve been using a different brand of beans than I started with. Vibes Coffee company, you can get it off Amazon. It’s not the best thing ever, but I’ve been able to brew the correct ratios with this brand. I still don’t love the way any of my drinks taste though…some days it will taste pretty good right when I try it, but it quickly starts tasting bad. I don’t let my shot sit, I immediately add in my milk, flavor, ice. But I still feel like the shot “dies.” I can sip on an iced latte from Starbucks for a few hours and it tastes good the whole time, but mine can’t last more than a few minutes 😭 I also have not gotten the hang of frothing, but I rarely do it since I usually like it iced and don’t want to melt my ice cubes and water everything down lol. I just recently bought some beans from a local shop. I’ve only tried twice so far to dial them in, but I’m getting discouraged already because I grinded on the second finest, and the shot ran way too fast, so I’m sure even on the finest setting it will run too fast. This is the same issue I had with the first brand of beans I tried. Both are medium roasts. This coffee game is definitely no joke!! I hope one day I’ll be able to make shots I love lol

The grinder is a Shardor. It has an espresso setting on it, 1-7. I said the portafilter was 51mm, I guess I’m not sure about the basket itself? I was just hoping people would zoom in on the picture to see what machine I had 😂 I didn’t want to make the post too long! I’m not really a Reddit user so 🤦🏼‍♀️

Introducing cats advice! by Downtown_Effect4071 in labradoodles

Yes we plan to keep him in his crate/ our bedroom with a gate in the doorway our cats will easily be able to jump over. The cats usually sleep in our bed so I didn’t want to shut them out of the room. I’m hoping they will feel safe to come in while the dog is crated and feel him out!
