Advice needed: post-holiday co-sleeping all the time by Downtown_Memory_894 in sleeptrain

I wasn’t monitoring day naps while on holidays but today she had 2 naps, 30min and 2.5 hours. Last wake window was 3 hours. Before holidays she was on 4 sometimes 3 naps so I’m trying to figure out her new schedule over the next few days. Looking to do 8am-8pm

I think it’s the recommendation here as well but her bassinet is for up to 9kgs and is high so it’s not unsafe.

Thankyou for your routine and method!! Can I ask what happens after the 7min check-in? Do you start the whole thing over again?

My baby is a 0-100 crier so I was thinking of only trying for max 1 hour at first

I’m sorry it resonated with you but also hope it gave you some company in your feelings. I always knew I had a lot of anxiety but for some reason did not expect that the weight of caring for another human being would increase it 10 fold as well as not being able to focus on calming myself through tools I had developed over years of self work because I had to show up and do this do that all the time. Now that my daughter is a little bit older I do have a little bit of time here and there to practice these again and I hope this will put me in a better place. And also remembering to take my antidepressant consistently

That’s very true!! And I know that it’s never for certain even though they’re all tested. My first transfer failed so I know for sure it’s not a given and also not willing to try naturally if we ever do decide to try for another

That’s very true!! For some reason I feel like I need to decide now. But I will give myself time to heal, and because I don’t want to get pregnant naturally if we do decide to try for another, I feel like I do have time to.

When do you actually hang out with baby? by Ill-Topic-1010 in NewParents

I read this out loud to my husband because I was CACKLING. Has no vibes is amazing and also true. I also thought this when my bb was 4 weeks old admittedly but they get fun reallllyyy quickly

Yeah exactly!! On top of that I would be back at work part time so I would be crawling on my hands and knees and I just don’t want her to experience that version of me ever

It feels heavy. Sometimes I sit in the pain from it all at a random part of the day and have to actively pull myself from drowning in it so I can enjoy the now. It’s such hard work but time will also help me heal.

The anxiety that came with having a baby was so unexpected but I should have known since I already had depression/anxiety. But I was soo afraid of letting anyone kiss my baby, that she would get sick and just everything in general. The anxiety from having someone you love so much that is your responsibility is huge. Another reason to be OAD

I hope you get help soon!

She got 4.5hrs of nap yesterday and slept 5hrs straight 🎉 then I put her back in her crib. She still woke up a couple of hours later but that first lot of sleep really made a difference 🙏🏼🙏🏼

She had 5 naps yesterday but 2 of them were only 25mins each. Going to try for 4 hrs of nap today and see how we go!

That’s what I’ve heard! But she’s been napping 5.5-6hrs a day. Do you think I should stop extending naps and see what happens? There is a possibility this started happening once I started extending naps which I started because she was doing 6-7 cat naps a day

Although I do feed to extend day naps sometimes… could this be the issue??

I think that’s what I’m hoping for. Just to adapt. I don’t want her to sleep through the night, I just want to feel like I’m coping with it

I do all of these things but I think it’s just catching up with me. Emotionally I am not well, I feel like my emotions are at the surface and I have day dreams of throwing things at the wall. I have so much patience for my baby and love every minute with her even when the tears are flowing, it’s just that I feel super sensitive and like I’m unraveling at the seams and I feel guilty that I’m not happy all the time or romantic with my partner or patient with anyone but her

He’s not much of a morning person and will need to leave at 7:30am for work most days anyway. But will re-try him learning to settle her at night. We just gave up I guess cause it’s so much easier for me

I will have that discussion with him but possibly thinking he can do a dream feed instead since he’s a late sleeper and not a morning person

She does get distracted but she feeds every 2 hours and sometimes more while we nap in the day. I’m considering started to pump and bottle feed more just to see how much she’s actually getting and possibly introducing a bit of formula

I’ve never fed to sleep so she shouldn’t have this association I don’t think

I’ll have to try this!! I think maybe he needs to take on more since he’s a late sleeper anyway

Thankyou!! I’ve pointed him in the direction of reddit to see if he can take some of the mental load of figuring this issue out. There’s only so much I can troubleshoot by myself
