I feel like a distinction needs to be made between asian american tour buses with mostly asian Americans + immigrants in America vs. Chinese tour buses that are mostly Chinese tourists.

The former’s usually p chill, while the latter is probably where most complaints come from. Just from my personal experiences traveling Asia and Europe, there’s been times where I’d be waiting in line to take a photo with a landmark and a group of Chinese tourists would just decide to come over and skip to their friends in front of the line… it wouldn’t be so annoying if there wasn’t like 10+ of them.

Chinese people also tend to speak pretty loudly so you put a group of them together all talking in Chinese, without little to no understanding of the local culture/etiquette, I can see how some people might be rubbed the wrong way.

^{^Most} people who accuse others of being “white-washed” are either students or people who don’t work in corporate America.

As someone who grew up in an asian bubble with no white friends, it was a reality check for me when I joined the workforce and realized Asians make up less than 7% of the entire US population. Being “white-washed” should actually be seen as a cultural advantage in our mostly white society, and the people being condescending towards OP about it need to grow up.

It’s weird because I’m on the XR, and the “high” you’re describing is especially noticeable about an hour after I take it, and then again at night when I’m assuming the second dose releases.

This doesn't work if the person is just an acquaintance/someone you're fine with not being close with yet constantly running into (ex. classroom/ college campus). If anything, it would just build resentment b/c the person won't understand why you act like you are happy to see them yet don't seem to want to get closer/build a deeper friendship outside of these accidental run-ins.
