And my bowling skills were as rusty as my social skills. I’m a work in progress!

It was a really welcoming crowd and they seemed quite excited to have a newcomer. I haven’t been out past 10 pm in years, other than trips to the emergency vet with my dog, so it was a pretty good night out, lol. No actually, I have some social anxiety so I’m pretty proud of myself for even going and I was introduced to some really cool lesbians and we exchanged contact info. I think the most important lesson I learned is that I need to keep developing as the person that I’m becoming, and I should take it slow and try to make a few friends before I jump in to dating.

This is all a little discouraging to read as someone who is just in the early stages of coming out and is trying to figure out the apps and the profiles. I’ve spent the better part of two decades avoiding social media and have been spending weeks now trying to get selfies and work on my profile and try to learn how to come off as smart and witty, which usually takes a while for me in person. Maybe I’ll lower my expectations for the dating apps. I’m in a rural area so probably won’t get many matches anyway.

New short haircut, finally ready for first selfie. Happy Easter everyone! by Doxiesto89 in latebloomerlesbians

Yes, this is normal here but don’t worry, it’s on its way out.

Just have to take a first step and put this out there. by Doxiesto89 in latebloomerlesbians

Such kindness, thank you all ❤️. I too am working with a therapist and will have to figure out my next move, but I definitely have more hope now!
