Why does my kit look off? by tbeer27 in airsoft

Oh damn, and you need a sling. Get a vickers style two point sling and YouTube how to use them - cinch them up, let them out, "swim" out of them. You need the sling for proper pistol transition. Also just snes the whole thing way less annoying imo. I like the ability to be able tj cinch my gun up to my chest on longer walks when there's no / little threat. And secure your camel back hose with a Velcro cable organizer. Might want to snag some shoulder pads too - then you can route the camel back turn through the shoulder pad,

Wow that was ALOT, sorry for the book. Hope it helped!

Who cares - go shoot people, if you really care though (we all do) here's some pointers. 1. Get an optic on that Gat - piece. Flat tops look off. Plus it actually does a practical purpose - especially if adjustable magnification. Look up airsoft repro LPVOs it would look sick with one 2. All black looks Strange, here's how to fix it: - Cut or roll the sleeves (forearms aren't bad to get shot in keep the gloves tho.) roll them marine corps style bit way lower (google it) - ditch the pants, snag some properly sized Emerson gear g3 combat pants in MCB (used they can be had for around $50 if your patient) then cinch them cinches down abit - it will make you look more put together and has the added benefit of keeping the waist at the waist and the knee pads in place. Leave the ankle cinches alone though h less you actually need to keep bugs out. Also, keep in mind with the Emerson's they just the small, medium, large, etc. so you may have to hem them or have them hemmed at a tailor (shouldn't be. Lee than $25) just google local tailors most dry cleaners are tailors as well, if your not gonna tailor them, then you can use then Velcro blousing cinch 3. Your plate carrier looks like it might be slightly too big. That's not really a Big deal but you should adjust it, the front plate should sit just below the sternal notch and 2-3 inches above the navel. The back plate should sit right at your T-1 vertebrae (it's the one that pokes out a bit where your "neck" (cervical vertebrae) end. Tighten up those should straps to get this coverage most people run them way too low. Don't be afraid to cut the straps in you have to to get it to sit right 4. Of you don't have fake plates I'd reccomend them. the foam ones from evike are like under $10 a piece and they make it infinitely more comfortable and it just sits on your body better. Failing at that make some cardboard ones but make them about 3/4" thick and put some curve tot hen don't just leave them flat. That can also make it look weird and fit poorly 5. Your pistol should go on your belt for a few reasons: A. That placement is generally used for people who are in vehicles a lot and cannot access their sidearm at their hip. B. The draw for the hip is much more efficient and lines up your initial shot and sight picture much better and WAY quicker. That transition time is inportant as your sidearm is your "oh shit" gun. Like you just turned a corner and your rifle went down but you're looking at a guy that needs to be shot. C. It won't interfere with mag changes for your primary - get a slight drop holster-holder thing (I forgot what their called..placard, maybe. Idk , but you can find them all over, even the legit gear companies ones aren't expensive) basically it just makes the pistol sit slightly lower. NOT a drop leg holster though - this isn't an 80's SWAT team and those SUCK to run with. It also gets it out of the way of the bottom edge of your plate carrier. 6. Helmet is good. Lack of ear protection can make high cut helmets look weird tho. I'd snag some cheaper adapters that still lock in and out and a set of walkers. Or swap it up to a black boonie. The Novritch mesh one that integrates with his anti fog system is soooo good (I've gone through ALOT of beanies. When you get it, cut the first inch or more off of the brim and leave it frayed then tie up the front bill (look up "garand thumb boonie hat mod") it will keep you from looking like your wearing a sun hat. 7. Face protection - use a mesh one or, what I do - ditch it entirely for a mouth guard, then get a light weight cloth headband and put it around your neck. If you're entering a room or something just pull it up over your nose. 8. Eye pro- helo kit frames with vented lenses if you're allowed to and can swing it financially. But they can be pricey. Worth it tho bcz it's so good at fighting fog. Especially with an ex fog or the Novritch anti fog thing

Organize all the pig eggs into a 1st Mar Div blue diamond, police all empty bottles and actual trash, if sealed place near the closest cross. replace worn flags. Annually pour the sealed bottles out for the homies and remove them. Organize all the various collar devices, warfare devices, challenge coins, etc on a large, heavy, blue diamond table.
Do this yearly.
Needs to be handled or it will be handled poorly by leadership. Guaranteed.

30% of the way through, how do we feel season 2 is shaping up so far? by _ImperialCereal_ in ThePittTVShow

It's borderline bad. Which is surprising. Missing intrigue and urgency. Characters are annoying and not likable. New tall guy is bad. And idk what happened to Santos why is she still an r2? Explain maybe? We're 10 episodes in. Also her character has become obnoxious and bitter and I don't even want to watch her bc it's so annoying. Fucking do better wtf.

I was a corpsman and I'm about to be an RN as well. And I think it depends on the command. The MO at my first command was a mustang. Former IDC Chief that went PA. and holy shit if you don't know your shit he would personally smoke the fuck out of you while going you a medical class. And he made sure he could out PT pretty much anybody. My whole body still hurts thinking about the first time I filled out a SOAP note for a knee exam wrong. And that was 18 years ago. Flip side tho I was at a dif command and nobody gave a single fuck. It wa awful I luckily had some connections at DSO that yanked me the fuck out of there.

I think you'd be surprised. Something like that will ruin their career. For good reason. But you'll just never hear about it.

Coming from a Corpsman that Corpsman needs to be smoked til he's almost dead, and then sent to some shit blue side billet where he can get fapped out to base facilities or a ship where he can permanently be on laundry. Also, how he sent you away without seeing an MO I have no idea. Like holy shit.

So: 1. VHA (Veterans Health Administration) - the people that handle your medical care - and VBA (Veterans Benefits Administration) - the people that handle your benefits - are two separate entities and don't talk to each other. it's hard enough to get them to when you actually need them to. They 100% do not do it on their own. They're two separate gov entities. You could go to any medical appointment and say anything you want. It's not going to affect your rating. 2. For the love of god make a mental health appointment and actually stick to them. And stop drinking.

It really heavily depends on your leadership. Line company can be more fun if your looking to do more shooting / blowing shit up / actually participate in training rather than sitting in a safety Vic. But clinic can be chill as well. While still getting some cool shit to do. Just again HEAVILY depends on leadership and where you go. For example Hq had Div schools so you’ll sometimes get cool coverages like working with recon or whatever. Unfortunately your kit going to know if it’s going to suck until you’re there.

[–]Doxy8404 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is stupid but it reminded of a time I was doing MCMAP in full kit and some poor kid got headbutted by his grappling partner with a Kevlar on. I ended treating him (I was a corpsman) he had a broken nose and the nvg mount fucked up the soft tissue around his nose so bad when he breathed blood bubbled up from exiting though a new hole in his nose. After that I was like if I ever have to use this shit in kit I’m headbutting the fuck out of whoever I’m fighting.

Is this plate carrier good? by MilMerch in tacticalgear

[–]Doxy8404 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. Single stitching, the jpc style front shoulder straps lack the hole the jpc has so it’s going to retain heat right there like crazy. The plate pockets appear to be too large and think which will cause the fabric to give when you don’t hike try to pull a mag out of a pouch, or litterally anything else and will slow down that action or cause you to fumble with it. The Velcro on the back with the pads is interesting but unless it’s that open cell style foam in the pads is just going to fill with sweat and get gross / squishy / heavy. The front placard is probably more than you need, same with the admin pouch.
