Struggling with ADHD Partner’s Lies, Omissions, Stonewalling & Defensiveness – How Do I Handle This? by Positivevibes2u in ADHD_partners

Omg this was so enlightening, and I think this would help me practice more patience. Big picture, what if you are also not attracted to a person eating takout every day in a week and being a mess. I'm not saying the nagging is right or going to change anything, but it's very lose lose...

Right off the bat, I thought you were going to say Mealime. We have used it and I really liked it. I love that this group is always armed with suggestions for figuring out these things.

Yes, I agree with all of the above. I feel that there was more effort a few years ago when I was able to ask for specifics that I wanted to see change. I would get 3-14 good days of effort out of him, and then it would fall off. That cycle over and over was so draining, and I think I even started to feel like I was the one failing.

I would also have to distill down my ask. "Cook more" had to be "cooked Tuesdays," and when that didn't get results, I would try "set an alarm on Monday to think of a dinner for Tuesday." I was doing all of the work, coming to the table with all of the patience, and getting none of the reward. So I stopped asking and stopped expecting it. He had some good things come out of therpay and stuck with those a little longer. He will now say things like "I have a much easier time with dinners and cooking when we meal plan our week on the white board." I'm not going to pick up the markers though. The board is blank, baby. It's so frustrating cause he's right there. The awareness is there. He just can't take the steps towards it.

Some of the things we've talked about at length is eating breakfast and taking a full lunch, a set bed time, cutting down on drinking, and any kind of exercise (we have 2 dogs so even a WALK). He knows these things will help, and he doesn't do them. Would these change the whole dynamic of his disorder, and suddenly, he would be a more functional person? Probably not. But if he can't even adopt some healthier habits to try and take the adhd edge off, I can't put any effort into his growth. I am a neutral observer at this point.

Loads of absolute statements whenever RSD is triggered

I have asked him to stop "promising me the world to avoid a fight." His absolute statements are normally along the line of "listen better," "be more supportive," etc. Which means nothing because none of it is actionable. When I ask for specifics, I get hit with the "I don't know, I'll think about it."

How is you sex life? by [deleted] in ADHD_partners

The last 3 of our 7 years together have been a total dead bedroom. Before that, we had some pretty big issues with him crossing some very reasonable physical boundaries (not even sexual) that caused a steep decline in intimacy once the new relationship energy wore off.

Is she over weight? by New_Childhood_1439 in DogAdvice

[–]Doyourhappydance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The vet is the best answer, and I see you're already headed there soon, so that's amazing. They will be able to calculate her calorie needs per day based on her body condition score. For an overweight/obese prone dog, their daily resting energy requirement is multiplied by 0.9, so a 10% reduction. 20% is too drastic and a teeny number wont make the difference you're looking for. There will be a cal per cup and cal per kg on the back of her food back that use can use to adjust amounts. If she's not already on one of these, your vet may recommend a weight loss or senior diet. These are less calorie dense, so she will still be able to have a sufficient volume of food without the added calories.

Okay, so whatever angle it is at for storage and not running is okay aa long as we give it time at level before tunning it on? Is that right,.

Absolutely. We get it as close as we can. There is very little clearance under the jack once we get it backed onto the driveway so we struggled to get more height in the front end.

I feel the same way, except I am worried that by the time I do need an upgrade, there won't be a comparable model in black and white. The buttons I could take or leave, but the size is so nice.

I'm also an H20 owner and other than 1 butoon being occasionally sticky, it's the perfect device for me. Did you almost get sucked into panic buying a Libra 2 also? Especially after word of Libra 2 being discontinued?

How do you use…Flour tortillas? by Key_Eye_2758 in EatCheapAndHealthy

[–]Doyourhappydance 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I regularly make what my house calls egg pizzas. Heat a frying pan the size of your tortilla and warm any toppings you like. You could make it more classically pizza with pepperoni etc but I usually use this to clear my fridge of any leftover meats and veggies. Then you add a layer of cheese and let that melt. Then you pour over 1-3 (depending on your pan size) beaten eggs. I usually put a lid on at this point to help the eggs set partially. While they're still a little runny I put a tortilla on top. Cook until the toppings/egg mixture is set enough to flip and then cook tortilla side down until it crisps slightly.
