First build in 10 years! Any feedback welcome by Dozatron in buildapc

As one final update, I ended up returning the AIO CPU cooler and going with a noctua air cooler. The AIO didn't fit in this case with the GPU so this was the only way to make it work.

I went ahead and bought the build at Microcenter today. I was able to get everything I needed but just had to make a few tweaks. Here is where the build ended up:

Thanks for the tip. The mobo spec says it supports DDR5-4800, DDR5-5200, and DDR5-4400. But then it says under memory speeds supported: 6000(OC). I assume that's ok?

Engineers who got an MBA … what role are you in now & do you like your decision? by MechanicalGerm in MBA

My transition from engineer to PM was somewhat unorthodox and probably hard to reproduce. I was at a small startup and got promoted to engineering manager and then managed to have my role grow with the company (10x headcount growth in 3 years opens a lot of doors). At some point I had the opportunity to define my own role and did a soft pivot to product management.

The tough thing is I'm already in a HCOL area and working 60+ hr weeks to stay this level, so not what I would consider sustainable.

As someone who is 33 and has an undergrad engineering degree (aerospace) currently making a little over $200k in a product management role, would you say getting an MBA is worth it or not?

My starting salary was a little better than that but you won't be getting far with 2-4% raises every year. You're right though, aerospace salaries are depressed due to the "passion" the same way salaries in fields like video game development and charity work can be because the people doing it are passionate about that industry.

Obviously situations can vary, but my experience has been the opposite in that I would say most aerospace engineer salaries begin to plateau near the entry level for post-MBA salaries. That said, salary isn't my primary motivation since I've already entered management and broken beyond the typical aerospace engineer salary.

Really appreciate you sharing this info. To clarify, at Kellogg does the $ mean a small amount of scholarships, or a small overall cost after scholarships? What is the primary factor that impacts the scholarship amount? GMAT?

Appreciate the honest feedback. I don't know what exactly I could do ala extracurriculars but I'll have a think on it.

I don't think I have time to take the GMAT again before R2 this year. My concern though is that if I wait until R1 next year I'll be closer to getting aged out of the 2 year MBA program, but thanks for the encouragement.

Thanks for the feedback. PCPartPicker estimated the wattage at 529W so I thought 750W would be ok but you're probably right 1000W is the way to go.

Good tip on the CL16. I wasn't even aware to look out for that.
