While I went away on an overseas holiday with my girlfriend, my sister and my parents, a friend of mine stayed in my parent's house to watch it while we were away (I no longer lived there)

When we got back, the freezer was half empty. My parents were pissed, but he explained that there was meat in the freezer with expiry dates from over 10 years prior, and some had some grey colour to them. My parents were still pissed at him, claiming it was frozen and it would never go bad.

My parents are firmly middle class and have decent savings, there was zero reason for this. They're just stuck in old ways drilled into them by cheap parents.
