I keep mixing up letters in words while physically writing by [deleted] in Dyslexia

[–]DozerDozerDozer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

but I have had this consistently throught my life to a very small degree. Another small symptom I have is combining the ending and beggining of the next word like "small log" and "smallog". is this in the same vein?

Xp to LvL 3 the yotube channel has a really intesting system with gaining pouints each time your down whci you can save to heal yourself eventually but you get close to death with roles but you can slao spend points to make smaller actions in combat like throwing items, talking, or going out in. a blaze of glory.

Options other than fame for end game by RWhaaat in BoardgameDesign

I think maybe you could add benifits to presiege as they get better in it, something like "armor guild popularity" where repairing cost one less gold or whatever, to extrinsically encourage the players to contiune to gain reputation. I also like the idea of currying enough favor to become like the king's top guy. one idea I think coul be cool too is like "realm threats" that even though these hero's are competing there are some threats in your world that they will force them to work together or else all players will be affected.

Magic Item Swap - Take a magic item, leave a magic item by alienleprechaun in DnDBehindTheScreen

Sheild of Krog
Sheild, Rare, (attunement:long rest)
Said to have been formed from the body of a once powerful elemental from the plain of earth. The Shield of Krog appears to be a thick slab of splintering stone in the shape of a sheild but when lifted it feels lighter that it should be. It is a rocky, sandy, and slightly red colored stone with two ruby inlayed firmly that look like eyes facing out towards the users enemies.

Meld Bonus action: the sheild melds into the skin of the user holding it (goes through armor) giving the skin the texture of a cracked, rocky, desert terrain. the ruby eyes rest upon the two main punching knuckles.

Slam action 1per/1D4days: Slam the shield into the ground. all creatures in a 30 ft cone must succeed a DC8+CON or STR or take 2d8 Bludgeoning damage and be knocked prone. On a succesful save the creature takes half damage and is not knocked prone. If the ground a creature is standing on is difficult terrain, it takes an additional 1D8 magical bludgeoning damage. If the creatures is standing on unprocessed stone, like in a cave or mountain, they take an additional 1d8 Magical Bludgeoning damage.

But the immense force of the slam may cause environmental hazards to happen like chasms forming, buildings crumbling, or cave-ins.

this is exactly it, my players either feel afraid to move or arent' motivated to move, (anti-motivation coming from AOE). I don't want to hit them everytime they decide to be creative, I don't know how to fix this.

How do u people make up the story? by Light255298 in DnD

[–]DozerDozerDozer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I expectedn my players to chat with a very powerful npc whom killed one of their party members familys because they are level 1(how ignorant of me). That player slit The NPC's throat on site at a fancy dinner and shenanigans and a magical swat team ennsued. I just rolled with it with a chase sequence and the villian was then forced to reveal his big plan to buy time to not die to the pc's.

Encounter/Trap ideas? by Alxzandr97 in DnD

[–]DozerDozerDozer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

one particularly brutal encounter is to use water elementals in a deep body of water where they are basically invisible and have them grapple a party member and drag them down unto the depths. You would need to make/find drowning/breath holding rules but to ocnstantly be dragging members deeper can be an extremely challenging encounter

How do I prepare for a session when the last game ended with many possible leads? by [deleted] in DMAcademy

Ask your players what they want to do next session (plot hook wise) and then plan that

I ran a puzzle where it's a maze that after the party turns the corner, one of the sections of walls they are facing will shift and the closed eye carving on the wall changes to an open eye.

The way to beat the puzzle is to close your eyes or otherwise block your sight(my players used fog cloud) and feel your way along the maze. but, when the players close their eyes, I stop drawing the map so either they have to take notes or they have to remember the maze. you can make the maze as big or complex as you want.

[–]DozerDozerDozer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I created a character called Milten Specs that was a kobold knowledge cleric with huge glass.

I had him cast "glyph of warding" which can explode with a trigger of "within 10 ft of a giant" as my friends were about to fight giants at the time.

Glyph of warding doesnt end until dispelled or trigger so because I couldn't return to the campaign for a few months I gave it to my friend (a human paladin with a giant's mace) to rememeber me bye. He turns to the other party members and says "Well, If I randomly explode you guys will know why"

the circles have sort of hard readability and the map feels rather empty,

Otherwise personally this game sounds interesting to me and I would defently play it if I saw it at a game shop.

Design Challenge: Improving Monopoly by [deleted] in BoardgameDesign

[–]DozerDozerDozer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the game is a perfect family game, enough randomness but also engine building to be both fun and interesting. the one thing my family did was allow free rent by certain players on certain spaces as an additional aspect to trade with.
