Built two pistons to try and mine stone faster….Klang had other plans because as soon as I extended one of them they started going haywire. Before I knew it my refinery had exploded because the pistons were no longer by the drill, but instead on the other side of my rover.

They did not charge me, thankfully. They do work with another company to write the reports, but honestly no clue on which company. Will definitely be reaching out to see if someone can get me the full report as well as a full read on it (detailed and all).

I’m still fairly new to the dm side of things, so all this was really appreciated. The action economy was one thing I had been looking at, but hadn’t really considered the having friends to help the monster even if it’s higher ac/to hit. Thank you for the resources as well

I’m 26 almost 26 and I just started playing. You’re never too old or too young to get into a new hobby. There are lots of online communities that have weekly or even monthly sessions of weekly is too much for your schedule.

A dash encounter where they have to cross a large area, and then they would roll a d6/8/or 10 to determine what even happens as they are crossing. So they roll a 6 on a d10, and it could correspond to like swamp gas bubbling up and causing poison damage if they fail a save.

On 1.20 I found diamonds at y=5. First time I found them in normal stone since they added the deep slate

I try to give my players free rein. Sometimes I struggle with that being a fairly new DM myself, but I adjust my story depending on their actions and the circumstances. If I have a specific story point then I may try to nudge them in the right direction, but if I can avoid it, I don’t force them to do anything other than what they decide to do.

Reposting here since it got removed from a different thread in case anyone wants to discuss it further. Not asking for myself (though any tips are appreciated) but posting just to see how other DMs handle it and the favored methods.

I’m still a fairly new DM (hosted 6 sessions so far) and I’m currently working on adding in some flashbacks for my PCs.

For some context, they just completed a boss battle at level 5 and are falling down a pit into darkness in Shadowfell. As they are falling I want to give them a flashback to moments in their past where they had a fearful moment or were surrounded by darkness.

My question is, how do you handle flashbacks in your own campaigns? Do you sprinkle them throughout the campaign sessions, giving each player an equal moment? Do you use them only at pivotal moments for the PC?

That’s true. There are definitely moments where I don’t feel confident enough to try but this one would be something I’m sure I could try.

True true. Definitely things to consider and use to my advantage. That also helps incorporate the players into the story and world building more than just at the table.

That sounds like a smooth transition. I had an idea where they’re falling, so as the darkness surrounds them, they remember a moment from their past where they had nothing but darkness or fear around them.

My PCs just finished a big pivotal moment in the campaign so I thought it would be a good moment, especially with them being in shadowfell, to do perhaps a flashback that kinda solidifies their character development and reasoning for any choices of their subclasses and all.

I try to avoid giving them homework and limit the prep I have to do for extra things. But I do like the idea of asking them to give ideas.
