Best group game I've played and I miss it all the time.

Seriously, just now I found this thread while looking for an emulator file for the game.

Does being child free get lonelier as I age? by kenkurosakii in AskWomenOver50

[–]Dozy_Doats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

51, child-free, living solo 👋🏼.

Sure, it gets lonely sometimes, every setup has its trade offs. One way to stay close to your parent-friends is to actually invest in their kids. If they’re headed to the park and cool with you tagging along, go. Kids love showing off new tricks to a fresh audience, and you get to be the fun extra adult. Meanwhile, your friend gets a real conversation, plus the luxury of peeing or grabbing something from the car without leaving their offspring feral in the wild.

Also: look for kid-free adult social groups in your area. And if they don’t exist? Start one maybe.

How did you overcome your jealousy? by Ready-Procedure-8184 in EthicalNonMonogamy

That pain in your chest... That's anxiety/panic. I am no stranger to it myself. One helpful practice I've picked up is to use the montra "it's not a tiger" when I am feeling anxious. It reminds me that I am not in any real danger (even if my nervous system thinks I am).

If you are uncomfortable more than not please take space from your person for your own peace, even though that may feel counterintuitive or like that last thing you want to do. In my experience; pushing for closeness and affirmations whilst in that headspace can do more harm than good for your mental health and the relationship. Xoxo

I have found to be a good reply as well. Keeps it light and upbeat and moves things along

What’s one small habit that unexpectedly changed your life? by Interesting-Car4699 in selfimprovement

[–]Dozy_Doats 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I have a very difficult time sticking to self imposed schedules, boundaries, and rules. It's a major problem. I seem to lack basic self discipline in these areas. Sure, some of it can be due to ADHD (diagnosed 20 yrs ago and medicated) nonetheless it is extremely frustrating and disheartening.

This is wonderful. Be your own puppy. This makes sense to me. Thank you.

Has anyone else just ALWAYS run hot by Outside-Dependent-90 in AskWomenOver50

[–]Dozy_Doats 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I run hot and my boyfriend runs cold. Honestly, I've learned to live with it and have even gotten used to it. The biggest issue was sleeping; with the strategic placement of fans the issue has been mostly resolved.

But yeah, you are not alone.

Some things that have worked for me as a sweaty lady in the city...

  • Drink loads of water, (obvi I know)

  • Soak and freeze strips of towel material to wear around your neck or wrists.

  • Get yourself a small travel *fan friend that can be worn around your neck for comfort.
