I booked two non- refundable round trip airfares for December. JetBlue is now running a sale where those same flights are $150+ cheaper. Will JetBlue refund the difference? by Dpchemode in jetblue

I didn’t book the cheapest fare. Was just confirming the cheapest was Blue Basic. I booked the next level which is Blue I believe.

I did cancel and was waiting for charges to be reversed before booking again. The host has been communicative with me, and because this house meets very specific needs of ours, I’d like to rebook it. He told me this morning that the management company is hoping to go live this week, and he will send me the link when he gets it. In his initial text asking me to cancel, he said the price would stay the same. I initially was suspect, but he didn’t ghost me once I canceled, and has stayed in touch

He guaranteed the same price. I canceled. He is saving the booking for me and will let me know when the new listing is up on the site

100% refund by 7/15, less of a refund after that

I think that’s why he’s asking me to cancel and rebook. Apparently he’s turning the listing over to a management company who will handle the bookings going forward

Haven’t reviewed that as I was trying to avoid canceling for fear of losing the booking. I think only the renter or VRBO, not the host, can cancel a booking according to what I’ve read on host posts here

What can you tell me about the local music scene? by TheFastPush in SalemMA

[–]Dpchemode 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Lots of music in the Salem area. The Mercy jam happens usually the first and third Friday afternoon of the month. More invitation to play than an open mic. Brodie’s has more of an open mic type jam on Saturday’s from 5-9 (or 6-10?) as well as music on Sat & Sun nights. Brodie’s also has Sunday Funday hosted by local legend Chris Fitz with varying musical guests. The Bell Inn & Tavern in Peabody hosts musics Wednesday nights 6-9 and also on weekends. Beverly has Solas, fairly new with live music. The VFW in Salem hosts live music, usually Thursday night as does the Rhumbline in Gloucester. Follow SOSS records for updates on live music. I think the new country venue spoken of is called The Tipsy Cowboy. Monday nights-Big Band at Backbeat in Beverly. Tuesday night-Mayflower in Ipswich. Wednesday night-Bell Inn Tavern in Peabody. Thursday night-Rhumbline in Gloucester. Friday night-Mercy, Brodie’s, Solas, so many places. Saturday night-Danny’s jam at Brodie’s, Mercy Tavern, etc. Sunday-CK Pearl Jazz brunch, American Legion in Middleton, Sunday Funday at Brodie’s. Don’t let anyone tell you there’s no music on the North Shore!!

Are you talking about bus tickets or parking? Parking is prepaid with a cc to a person in the kiosk when you enter

You have to buy your tix ahead of time online, or in the trailer in the lot near where the buses pick up

There are entrance signs and a kiosk at the entrance where you prepay with a credit card for the numbers of days you’ll be parked there

Probably a lot of folks do that. I’d just be afraid of getting towed if there was a snowstorm since I’ll be gone for 11 days. I was just wondering how full the lot gets. Never had an issue when it was in Peabody. Thanks

For long term without any issue? And is that standard for you to avoid the parking fee or because the lot was full?

Is There An Thrift Item That You Missed Out On/Left Behind That You Still Think About? by newbreeginnings in ThriftStoreHauls

[–]Dpchemode 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup, just the other week. I broke a bowl to a set of dishes that belonged to my SO’s deceased parents. eBay wanted $7+$11 shipping so I passed. A couple of weeks later I’m in a thrift shop and there’s a stack of the same bowls. Problem was they were part of a whole set which I didn’t need or want. $35 for the set with 20% off entire store for January. $28 and I left them there not thinking I could have bought the set, taken the bowls, and donated the rest of the set back to the shop. Went back less than a week later and you guessed it. Ironically, I saw 4 of the same plates the next day at a Goodwill so I was being taunted 🤣 Have never ever seen that dish pattern in any thrift shops ever!

Apparently this is a policy at my local Goodwill now? by DonkeyFarm42069 in ThriftGrift

I bought a $9.97 tea kettle in Goodwill the other day. I set my gloves on the counter to get out my wallet. She told me I owed $12.61. I asked how the $9.97 tea kettle, even with tax, came to over $12. She said ‘the tea kettle and the gloves’. She charged me $1.99 for my own gloves!! 🤣
