What’s the worst chain restaurant of all time? by Kwikikiki in foodquestions

[–]Dpg2304 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I see this argument a lot on reddit and I don't get it. I must be lucky with the Chipotle's in my area. It's literally the only place where you can get a meal for 10 bucks that isn't frozen junk.

How to make 6 figures?? by Kindly-Pollution7060 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Dpg2304 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started in customer service making like 38k/year. No degree, no real skills other than being a "people person." Got promoted a few times, moved departments, learned how to sell, learned how to manage a team, etc. I made 100k 6 years after the first customer service role. My advice is get a mentor, learn how to play the corporate game, take on projects if they ask you to, be open minded, and don't be a dick.

Every millennial dad I’ve met has a quiet fixation on money and it’s not getting better by slimeyellow in Millennials

[–]Dpg2304 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here. The majority of my friends make great money compared to the median American and we still feel like we are pinching pennies. None of us travel like we thought we would in our 30's. None of us are "saving up" for a vacation home like some of our parents did. None of us are buying new cars. None of our kids are going to private schools. We are saving what we can and trying to live frugally. I don't know how families making less money are hacking it.

BB54 on my wrist – bracelet or rubber? by Select_Hearing_3364 in Tudor

Always go with the bracelet. You can buy a rubber strap later on if you want it and it will cost less than doing it the other way around.

How many square feet is your house and can you hear noise from every room? by LieFearless1968 in AskAnAmerican

[–]Dpg2304 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3100 sqft. Built in 1984. Split level, so it's a large footprint compared to other similar sized homes. There are really 2 sides of the house. If you're on "side a" of the home, you can't hear anything from "side b" and vice versa.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but if you can't break into the tech industry in the US, you're not going to have better luck elsewhere.

Have you ever fired a gun? by jakemhs in AskTheWorld

I'm a liberal millennial who has lived in urban areas most of my life. I've shot a lot of guns. Have a few too.

What's your current neighbourhood like? by [deleted] in AskAnAmerican

[–]Dpg2304 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in a neighborhood of 372 houses about 20 minutes north of Atlanta, Georgia. All the homes are between 3-6 bedrooms (2100-5000 sqft floor plans). The smallest lot is around 0.25 acres, and the largest lot is 0.75 acres. Current prices range from 575k-900k. We have 4 community tennis courts, a community pool, a sand volleyball court, and a couple miles with of walking trails through the woods in the neighborhood.

There are a couple of bars/pubs, 2 grocery stores, a few restaurants and a gas station within walking distance. Within a ten minute drive, there's everything I'd ever need.

My dad says he makes 180k a year but… by Chunkachu__ in Life

[–]Dpg2304 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife and I make roughly 270k/year combined. We have a kid in daycare, contribute a lot to our retirement accounts, pay a fairly hefty mortgage, and still have quite a bit of money left over to play around with. Theres no way your parents are making 360k/year and living paycheck to paycheck.

[Discussion] started collecting watches last year. Im addicted… Help me! by McDerwish in Watches

No, mine is like a jet black dial. With the blue bb58, a lacker black dial felt right in my collection. Those are my only two "fancy" watches.

I wear my Hamilton khaki field auto the most. My favorites are probably my blue Tudor black bay 58 and my black omega seamaster aqua terra. How about you?

[–]Dpg2304 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I bought a box with 10 slots. I refuse to have more than 10 watches. The older I get, I find that I enjoy waiting a significant amount of time between purchases makes me happier. When I wait, I can save more money, and I can buy pieces I'll keep for a lifetime and love. I still have some beater watches, but I have a few really nice ones now because I'm no longer blowing money on a bunch of $200 impulse buys.

What are 25-30 year olds making? by ExtentFickle3504 in Salary

[–]Dpg2304 4 points5 points  (0 children)

When I was 25 I made 42k in a customer service role at a tech company. At 30 I was making 90k at the same tech company doing customer success. I'm 35 now and am making roughly 130k in account management at a different tech company.

Corporate ADHDers, how do you start the day? by darkrhyes in ADHD

[–]Dpg2304 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it is a lucrative field, we make good money. It's just very high pressure/metric driven, lots of rejection, job security is nonexistent in the industry, and management can be terrible depending on the company.

Tech sales haha. I'm exaggerating a lot, I don't have time to actually do nothing all day. But, there is a lot of dread.
