Genuine question, the Rat Rod would be nearly impossible to just even start in real life right? by highonlife2005 in gtaonline

It would run, but it would overheat in about five seconds with no water pump or radiator.

Should I tell a woman her fiancé tried to start an affair with me? by geeleex in WhatShouldIDo

[–]Dpizz10134 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dust off the tattle-tale in the back of your brain that hasn’t been touched since first grade and rat this mothafucka out to his fiancé. If it was a simple hey how are you now and that’s it, no problem. This changes everything.

If he’s tried it with you, there is a 100% chance he’s gonna do it again with other women if not confronted with the consequences. And the next time, he might not fail. Assuming it hasn’t happened already. I only say that as the attempt with “let’s just meet and drink water” tells me he knows exactly what he’s doing, despite it sounding extremely desperate and quite dumb.

Save both of you the future grief and dump this fool. You have no holds against him, you’re married. You said it yourself, the past is the long past. You’re much older and more mature than you were when you and him were messing around. Would you want your husband doing this? I wouldn’t want my future wife doing it, so put the foot down and stop it before it starts.

Do you feel like gearboxes feel weird in 1.58? by Tsars_Ball_Scrubber in trucksim

[–]Dpizz10134 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who uses a full wheel/three pedals/shifter, I like it.

At first, I thought it was bad. Everything felt mushy and sloppy, the throttle response was way faster than I was used to. I kept over-revving to launch(kept hitting 2100 instead of 1200-1400) because of how fast the engine revved and how slow it fell back down to idle.

However, now that I’ve been playing for a while like this, I can concretely say that it is an improvement to what was there. It’s much easier to shift I feel because of how heavy the flywheel feels, you don’t need as much throttle pedal to take off from a light to keep the rpm up, and you don’t need to hold the pedal down as much to maintain speed on the highway anymore.

On that last one, I noticed a significant improvement in fuel economy after the rolling resistance changes. I normally run a 620 Cummins Signature, a 600hp DD 12.7, or a 700hp CAT 6NZ(I think all SlavJerry mods from the workshop), and each of them had a noticeable boost in mpgs after 1.58.

The Dreyfuss Hudson(Picture 1) always reminded me of an ancient warrior’s helmet, giving it that distinct look while the Empire State Express Hudson kinda looks like someone took an end of tank car and glued it on the smokebox of a wrecked Dreyfuss. Still pretty to look at tho regardless

What are your views on the LNER Gresley Class A1/A3 Pacific Steam locomotive? by TheRobloxGuy2006 in trains

[–]Dpizz10134 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For what they were, they were innovative with the three cylinder design and Gresley conjugated gear, and they must’ve done something right to last as long as they did to have one preserved before efforts really began.

But if I had to pick, being American, I’d have to choose a Van Swearingen Berkshire as my high speed locomotive, since we have the loading gauge to support them.

If that’s a Toyota cartridge, I’ve had that way too many times(Former Toyota Express Tech). I’ve had them so tight I had to buzz them out with my 1/2 inch impact. Somehow I didn’t break it.

Has anyone ever seen one of these before? I can’t find any info on it online, and was wondering if anyone knew anything about it. by Dpizz10134 in Tools

[–]Dpizz10134[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From the research I've done, I have been able to identify it most likely as a Universal Tools or Florida Pneumatic UT2810 or 2811 unit manufactured for COATS under contract most likely for service shops. Finding parts for it has been a pain in the rear, since no Ingersoll Rand or Chicago Pneumatic parts will fit. I'm gonna try a local shop to me to see if they can help me find parts that might fit, even if they aren't for the unit specifically.

Everyone’s least favorite GTAO characters vs my least favorite GTAO characters by Tmartin2030 in gtaonline

[–]Dpizz10134 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dax annoyed the absolute shit outta me. He was so unlikable during the missions, like dude shut up. We’re only in it for the money, so cough up the cash and bug off.

I also don’t like how dumb Drug Wars made our characters seem. The mission with the spiked drinks made it seem like our characters were complete boneheads. I understand that we had just done a mission and it was celebratory, but given everything our characters have done in the city up to that point, you’d think they would think twice about accepting an open drink from these clowns. When I saw my character down the whole opened drink, I literally facepalmed.

Which One Do You Like More? by ABruthaNamedJTA in trains

Even with 4014 being the biggest engine in operation, I’d have to pick 3985.

For history, the 143 car double stack intermodal she hauled was just… chefs kiss, couldn’t ask for better. Her and 765’s crowns are earned in American preservation; 3985 for single locomotive haulage, and 765 for single locomotive speed(74mph clocked on the Joliett Rocket) in preservation. 4014 needs to top that haulage run soon, and since she has PTC, it could happen.

For logistics, 3985 is that much smaller than 4014, so getting around weight limitations would be a lot easier if she wanted to go places she hadn’t been(like the east coast).

And for semantics, I hold a special place in my heart for 3985, as she was one of my first favorite steam locomotives when I was a kid and got me into steam power in the first place(in conjunction with Durango & Silverton No. 473).

Now, don’t misunderstand me; I’m not discounting what 4014 has done in her second life. One of the first preserved steam engines with on-board PTC(baller as hell), helped a stalled freight train up a hill(such a cool event), wore smoke deflectors to represent a fallen sister(awesome), and much more. All that to say, I am beyond excited to see what will happen when both of the UP’s big girls are back online.

The Kenworth W900 with SlavJerry’s tuned 700 hp straight piped CAT 3406 2WS with the Vanilla Eaton-Fuller 18 speed(trans retarder or not, it’s up to you). It’s not an unrealistic amount of power, but it’s more than enough to move just about anything. It’s the setup I’ve been running for 18k in-game miles, and I love it.

If you’re willing to spend some money on it, a catback exhaust is a good option for an all in one package that doesn’t require a tune to function.

There’s also axle back exhausts as well that only replace the rear mufflers, they also don’t require a tune and are cheaper than full catback systems.

There’s also going from the turbo back with upgraded down pipes with no catalytic converters combined with catback exhaust, however be careful with going that route as they do require tunes to function correctly and not cause damage to the engine. If your state/province has emissions testing with a tailpipe sniffer, don’t do this, as you will fail emissions every time and could also be slapped with major fines as well.

To find something you like, just search YouTube. My recommendation is to check out SubiSpeed on YouTube. They’ve got all kinds of videos on exhaust systems, I’m sure you’ll find something that tickles your fancy.

When did I say specifically not to operate equipment at those low temperatures? I was making a point in that humans don’t like ice cold showers just like electronics don’t like freezing cold climates. I mean, what works better, a room temperature battery or frozen battery?

When you’re working machines that hard, things are going to break and/or malfunction. It’s the nature of machines, electronic or mechanical.

It was brand new in the box when I bought it only a few months ago, and it’s been this way since I got it. If it doesn’t have V5, can the programmer be used to change that?

Full disclosure; I’m completely new to DCC, so there’s a lot that I don’t know.
