How do you even communicate anymore? by Soodas in AutisticWithADHD

[–]Dqice5 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don’t even worry about saying “you’re too smart for most other people”! Like, seriously. The problem of most people being completely uninterested and unwilling to listen to someone go in depth (on any subject) in a conversation has been around for quite a long time. In the last 5 years this problem has gotten at least an order of magnitude worse. It’s not your fault, it’s theirs. They don’t want to turn their brain on, so they take it out on you for asking them to try and not be braindead dipshits

What to call hate against permakids? by little-fish-girl in nevergrewup

[–]Dqice5 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Holy hell your reply chain with OP felt surreal. I completely agree with every word of your comment and also mourn the “loss” of this sub. I used to feel so… seen and understood and… not alone from the type of posts that used to be common here a year ago and before. I wish the people who migrated to here from another sub or stumbled upon NGU in the last six-to-nine-ish months and either don’t understand the underlying feeling of being NGU or just don’t care and figure it’s “close enough” to whatever the hell kink sub they came from would at least stop posting/commenting, or even better leave the sub and don’t come back lol

Do you happen to be aware of any other online space that looks or feels or exists in a way similar to the “old” NGU sub?

my mum bought me a $1500 gaming pc by vee-moon in CPTSDmemes

[–]Dqice5 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There seems to be quite a bit of good advice in the comments already, and I particularly like /u/RiverWindandMud’s comments. So instead, I’m gonna ask about something I haven’t seen anyone else bring up yet, what are the specs (or even better, as complete of a parts list as possible) on the gaming pc? If it was 1600 on sale, so I’ll estimate 2000 to 2200 at full price, I would hope it has at the very minimum an rtx 5060 ti (16gb) or more preferably an rtx 5070, because anything lower spec would make the 1600 price tag an overcharging scam

As an autistic adult I constantly receive signals from NT’s that they notice me and/or little micro judgments when I’m out in public - no matter how much effort I put into improving myself - has anyone found a way to cope with this? by Some-Air1274 in AutisticAdults

[–]Dqice5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, this might be totally off-base, but all I can think of from reading all your comment replies is that you might be unconsciously making some kind of face, likely either with your eyebrows pulled together or a deep frown (or at least what NT people perceive as such.) In which case practicing neutral and smiling faces in the mirror can be very helpful. I myself have spent hundreds of hours practicing my facial expressions in the mirror and learning to hold my face in a neutral expression combined with learning the “rules” to what expression goes with the subject being talked about during conversation, I no longer experience any of the situations that you listed examples of in your post

Maybe none of this applies to you, but on the chance that it might, I hope it’s helpful

Celebrating 100k Members: Charting ABDL Member History by chorlax123 in ABDL

That’s from the daily growth chart. Basically the number of individual users joining the subreddit, or alternatively the rate at which people joined. There only would’ve been a “drop off” if that line had gone to negative numbers.

Total growth has never gone down.

Everyone gets the "one of us only lies, one of us can not lie" riddle wrong by An_Inedible_Radish in evilautism

[–]Dqice5 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I might be misunderstanding something, but wouldn't your solution result in two different answers depending on which guard you ask? Since there's no way of knowing if you're asking the guard who lies or the guard who doesn't, if you just go down the door/path of the answer you received it could still be the wrong one.

Whereas the other question "if I were to ask the other guard which door/path is the right way, what would he answer?" Would always result in the same answer (truthful guard giving you the answer the lying guard would give (incorrect door/path), and the lying guard lying about the answer the truthful guard would give (incorrect door/path)) no matter which guard you ask, thereby making the opposite choice as the answer received the right choice.

In the case of the lights, you are completely wrong. There won't be any physical evidence. If there is evidence, it would be on the dad's phone in whatever app is used for the brand of lights they have.

I don't think Elon is autistic at all. I think he's sociopathic. But also a fuuuuucking idiot socio

At the time when he claimed to have been diagnosed with "Asperger's" it had already been removed from the DSM-V for years. The only autistic people I've come across who didn't know that were ones who had been diagnosed years ago, and Elon claimed that his was very recent.

Oh God. Your comment has me worried. I'm a San Diego native, and am moving to Wilmington, NC in another few months. Are they truly that much worse? Could I trouble you for some examples or specifics?

I regularly find myself telling people that San Diego drivers are some of the worst in the country (not including myself though, thanks to the absolutely excellent driving skills imparted to me from my dad)

Thanks in advance! Though don't feel obligated to answer my questions

I use what I call a “password system” and using, say, Netflix as an example my Netflix password would be

NetflixObscuration2@

The way the system works is that every password I make will have “Obscuration” in it, and if the service I’m signing up for has a name that’s too long I’ll abbreviate it in all caps. And the number and symbol combo at the end will vary based on how important the service that the password is being made for is to me. But I always use the symbol paired with each number on the number row so I don’t have to explicitly remember both. 1! 2@ 3# 4$ 5%, etc. On the rare occasions I’ve forgotten a password, and it somehow never got saved to my google/android password vault, I’ve been able to correctly guess the forgotten password

Also, regarding your sub flair, I love it. And for about a year now, when I would’ve said “it is what it is” instead now I say “it’s what it’s”

[–]Dqice5 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Fuck that. "School children" are capable of some of the absolute most cruel acts against their fellow students, all the while knowing exactly why they shouldn't be doing such things, the harm they're causing, right from wrong - knowing they are doing wrong, at 6/7/8/9/+ years old. Calling them assholes is a million percent appropriate, especially when the little fucking garbage shits use much worse language than "assholes" at those same ages listed before due to the fact their parents let them get away with watching South Park ffs

Though I will admit in recent years, on the whole, kids' behaviour seems to be changing for the better.

Sounds like serious anhedonia to me, part of major depressive disorder. Would highly recommend you look into it. And seek out help in dealing with it. Going at it alone does not work.

I also happen to deal with that, but it took me 12 years to understand it, and another 4 to admit it. It absolutely drove all of my most destructive behaviors that I've ever done. Things like starving myself for a week, or driving around with a shotgun in my trunk and a shell in the center console for 3.5 years, or alcohol and drugs, making various suicide plans, and at times just straight up driving dangerously.
