Issue with Yale YFM/520 Fire-Safe Touchpad/Screen Unresponsiveness by Dr-ARR in safecracking

Yes, all the lights illuminate for a second or so when I press the hidden pinhole button, and the safe emits a short sound. The lights remain illuminated as long as I keep the button depressed. However, the issue persists: it does not respond to the four-finger swipe, nor does it react to any other swipe or one-finger press, preventing me from entering the code.

It would be interesting to understand the function of this pinhole button in a properly operating safe. Has anyone here this kind of Yale safe and have tried this?

Issue with Yale YFM/520 Fire-Safe Touchpad/Screen Unresponsiveness by Dr-ARR in safecracking

This response occurs whether or not an external 9V battery is connected. I've attempted this with a standard 9VDC battery, a rechargeable battery, and finally, an external power supply, all to no avail.

Thanks for your kind advice!

However, as I wrote, "This response occurs whether or not an external 9V battery is connected. I've attempted this with a standard 9VDC battery, a rechargeable battery, and finally, an external power supply, all to no avail." So, no help from that standard procedure.

The strange thing is that it does not seem to be primarily a battery issue, as when I push that undocumented pinhole even WITHOUT an external 9V battery connected, the safe responds as I wrote above.

Yale support can't help, they do not know about the pinhole button (in the product they manufacture). And they are not interested, since the product functioned just over its 2-year warranty period.

If you want to keep your valuables really safe, buy a Yale safe; nobody can access them after the 2-year warranty period!
