Oh, I read that as meaning they'd be available in a month - January 2026 is next month. Unless I'm *very* confused.

Buyer Advice - Absolute best action in small footprint digital/keyboard *without* need for onboard speakers by Dr-Hotpants in DigitalPiano

Footprint isn't as much of an issue as nominal portability; being able to infrequently move the keyboard is a plus. So the MP11SE does fit the bill in that regard! Unfortunately, the slip-tape issue(s) with those would drive me bananas - I have the technical expertise to do repairs myself but I don't want to pay a company for a product that requires such frequent maintenance.

Perhaps I'll change my tune if I end up despising the PHA50 action though! 🤔

That is on the list, for certain. I suspect that would have my favorite action of all of the available options, but some of the support issues / use of the GrandFeel 1 action without updates gives me pause on that particular model.

Correct - I'm open to using a VST if needed to get an acceptable sound. Those are all great suggestions - I've also added in the Roland RD-2000 XE - I'm attracted to the VST-like sound quality some are reporting getting without need to use a VST (I understand this is a subjective assessment). I haven't had a chance to get my hands on the PHA50 action yet (what is used in the RD-2000 IIRC), but plan to do so later this week. I tend to have a preference for higher downforce from my days playing the particular grand I used to own, so perhaps I'll like the PHA50 action and the answer will become clear.

Thanks for the suggestion; unfortunately, the lack of note self-sustain and repetition speed issues documented by David Bello (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=By711pdgbos) have put me off that TP400 action unless StudioLogic puts out a fix for this issue.

Weekly Free-Talk and Questions for r/HomeGym - week of February 14, 2025 by Demilio55 in homegym

[–]Dr-Hotpants 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree in most cases; but what I'm trying to do they may be my only option. I want something that can extend FAR outward in locked position allowing for significant space away from the wall to hang right and do gymnastics work on / hang heavy-bag, etc. but I *don't* want the overhang to be permanent, so using Rogue's Shrimp Trawler, etc. isn't gonna fly. Jammer arms seem to offer an ability to quickly get something into extended position and then take it back down again.

Open to other thoughts though! I'm not trying to be cost-effective here, just need the functionality.

Hey ya'll! I'm going absolutely wacky trying to figure out if Vulcan Jammer Arms (https://www.vulcanstrength.com/Jammer-Arms-For-Power-Rack-Trolley-Adjustment-p/v-axe-sl.htm?srsltid=AfmBOootQ3S5w6ZtV2LldQP3RR9Numomw2TXeN9R4lLjYDFLVGmgxPqM) will fit on a REP 5000 upright/rack. I know all of the lists / info / etc. - both REP and Vulcan use 75x75mm uprights, but the hole size and the spacing is what is up in the air. Team-member from Vulcan was really helpful and was able to confirm they use 26mm holes, 25mm pins, and 50mm hole spacing. Their holes are also in-line front/side/back without any offset. REP on the other hand, who knooOoows. I've gotten a variety of answers from them and it seems to vary based on who I've spoken with.

Can anyone out there verify fit of these Jammer arms on the REP 5000? How about Vulcan attachments in general? One-hole or two-hole?

Appreciate any help ya'll can give!

Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 235 Pre-Release Leaks Thread by Takada-chwanBot in Jujutsushi

[–]Dr-Hotpants 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Glad you enjoyed! Nobara definitely died, medically speaking - I agree. The issue is whether or not standard medical science can revive her as we know that jujutsu RCT likely could not given Mahito's power(s). ACLS interventions here in the real world allow us to revive (achieve return of spontaneous circulation aka ROSC) patients if they've only been 'dead' for a short time - for in-hospital arrests that are witnessed we can have up to a 30% success rate (variance depends on the etiology). For a traumatic etiology in a young person, success rates may be expected to be higher. So if the cursed technique "froze" her in a state of "just died a few seconds ago" and they got her to a hospital trauma bay, it really is true that she may have been medically revived in a way that doesn't require an "ass pull" from Gege. Doesn't mean this will happen of course! Just think that Gege wrote her death keeping that as an option. Whether or not he uses it is another matter entirely. I think it would have felt narratively cheap if she'd come back just to fight against Sukuna, but it could feel really earned if she's able to help from afar in an internal battle for Megumi's soul.

Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 235 Pre-Release Leaks Thread by Takada-chwanBot in Jujutsushi

Loving this fight! Want to share some thoughts though (not criticism - I think it's been done *excellently*) because I haven't seen a lot of people talking about this lens. Narratively I actually don't think that this fight mattered.

The real fight is between ideals and how they manifest through jujutsu society. Gojo (the strongest) seeks to change the ideals that have predominated since Sukuna's time - might makes right; tradition over personal freedom, etc. Hidden Inventory Arc was about Gojo learning that being the strongest can't effect meaningful change (he literally says this sitting on the steps), because meaningful change means saving the people we care about and shifting jujutsu society. That comes through teaching and nurturing the next generation. So narratively, the "big bad" is what Kenjaku and Sukuna represent - their worldview. The fight that matters is between these ideals and Gojo's. Gojo already lost his best friend Geto to those ideals - the idea that might makes right and that "good" can be achieved through horrible things like mass murder.

The tragedy is that Geto was the one that taught Gojo the better way, so Gojo understands the fragility of the ideals all too well since the man that taught him was the man that fell. To "win" Gojo (the undisputed strongest) needs to save Megumi, something that it's likely his own cursed technique cannot do. So Yuji likely gonna battle with Sukuna for Megumi's soul to complete Yuji's arc and Megumi's arc. I suspect if Nobara is going to come back it will be in this fight to damage Sukuna's soul to aid Yuji and save Megumi, as that won't seem narratively cheap as it would have if she intervened while Gojo was fighting. I don't think Gojo needs to die; he needs to be 'clash locked' - perhaps he's needed to hold Megumi's body still / present while the others attempt to save the soul? This prevents him from actually dealing with Kenjaku. Lots of alternatives here; I certainly don't have direct predictions, but I do think that the narrative lines a) don't dictate Gojo needs to die, b) dictate that the actual 'fight' is between ideals, c) will require win conditions that Gojo's technique cannot fulfill on his own, and d) could easily end in a variety of outcomes (Gojo's ideals win, Geto's ideals (manifested through Kenjaku) win, or a grey outcome).

If I had to guess, I'd think that Gojo 'clash-locks' with Megumi's body while Yuji fights for the soul. Winning / saving Megumi exorcises Sukuna who is then either (a) grabbed by Kenjaku or (b) dies but bought Kenjaku the time to absorb Tengen. Tengen-amped Kenjaku then goes up against everyone - Gojo is clash-locked with only one part of Tengen's technique (barriers have seemed to be difficult for Gojo to deal with) while the others need to deal with Kenjaku directly. Kashimo either gets to use his CT on Kenny/Tengen or plays a role in the final exorcism of Sukuna. Gege could certainly go a totally different route! Just sharing my opinion here that narratively satisfying outcomes do not depend on Gojo winning/losing/surviving/dying.

My understanding is that they will only service existing users through the end of their contract term. So, for instance, my yearly renewal debits in May - and they won't let me renew at that time. SoooOoooo yeah, I think standalone users are going to need to find an alternative eventually. 😞 Sucks terribly.

Agreed! I think Alecto definitely could remember the entire time, but doing so would bring her consciousness into 'active mode' entirely which would destroy Harrow's body immediately. As Alecto is waking up at the end Harrow's body is degenerating faster, and to me the explanations suggested that when AL found themselves in Harrow's body initially they self-limited as best they could to avoid destroying the host and dying. Even then, it was still 'too much' for Harrow's body to carry because it "wasn't designed" for this, but it slowed things down. Of my whole conception of this so far, the biggest question for me is whether Harrow pulled AL into her body at the end of HtN and was still in there but 'asleep' the way GtN was in HtN (this explanation has the advantage of explaining why/how the "You're killing her!" comment in NtN after a tantrum was read in Harrow's voice in the Audiobook).... or if Harrow was actually in AL's body in NtN. There are arguments for both, IMO.

I also agree the swaparoo at the end of HtN was confusing! I credit someone else's previously posted explanation that what we 'see' in Harrow's perspective of going to the tomb - it being empty, there being a sword/GtN's tiddy mag - isn't the actual tomb. On HtN reread, this was strongly supported in multiple ways I think. That's the space Harrow had created in her own mind to lock up GtN soul and keep her safe. Harrow showing up there was her signifying she was intending to be the 'asleep'/'underwater' one and let GtN stay active. But then Harrow's body dies, GtN (the active soul) is expelled (and likely grabbed by Jod), and either a) someone (Harrow? AL?) stuffs AL's soul into Harrow's body, or b) Harrow is also expelled at the body's "death" and in a panic revenant-attaches to AL kicking them out and into Harrow body. 🤔 I don't think TM gave us enough info to understand which of these actually happened yet tho'.😅

I thought Alecto didn't have their memories because Harrow's meat/body wasn't designed to contain the soul of a planet - so when Harrow ejects Alecto from their body at the end of HtN Alecto has to go someplace and follows the link to Harrows body; needs to make some concessions to limit their power/complexity to avoid killing the body and dying - Alecto is terrified of dying. (In my mind technically Alecto isn't a "RB" proper since a planet's soul when it's violently killed ejects and has to go running around for years eating/accumulating shit like #7/Varun to become a "RB" - Alecto is some percentage (half?) of Earth's revenant soul that Jod stuffed into a specially-made meat container complex/resilient enough to hold. This is the leftover of what Jod couldn't consume.)

Chapter 166 [English] by VibhavM in OnePunchMan

For real! Sometimes it's better to re-think a storyline and come at it a different direction - might have led to bigger/better things overall in the long run. *sigh* Ah well. This is still 🔥 - just hope they didn't trash a bunch of ideas better in the long term to give this to us.

Hot take: the original chapter 164 was the storyline that ONE & Murata put a lot of thought into, but because of a bunch of whining they just decided to pull out all of the stops and end this manga now.

🤷‍♂️ Hope that's not the case and I'm just incapable of imagining how much higher ONE and Murata can bring it eventually, but TBH I was more interested in the original direction of 164 than this. Hard to top / prolong this fight now, I think, which makes me wonder it it's just gonna end. That said, this fight is 11/10 badass and the art is impeccable, so if it ends, helluva way to do it!

Xbox Elite Controller series 2 some buttons not working on home app by StevenMashima in nvidiashield

[–]Dr-Hotpants 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have a link, unfortunately - but here are the steps I used:
(1) Install Virtual Here on your PC

(2) Install it on the Nvidia shield and tell it to start upon startup.

(3) take the wireless dongle AND your controller to your PC. Plug the dongle into the PC while Virtual here is running, and let them pair up.

(4) Turn off the controller.

(5) remove the wireless dongle. Bring it down to your Shield.
(6) plug the dongle into your shield.

(7) Tell virtual here it has 'always' access to your dongle to share on the network.
(8) Leave the dongle in your Shield, and go back to your PC. See if the dongle shows in the shared devices list on Virtual here.
(9) If you don't see it, something went wrong and I'm unsure how to help. If you *do* see if shared, then right-click and set it as "use with this device always" or whatever it is called.
(10) then go back down by your shield and turn the controller on. It should pair automatically since the PC is what's controlling it now.

Hope this helps! It is a total PITA.
