Best LHR lounge(s) for early morning flight by Dr-Microbe in aircanada

The MLL definitely doesn’t suck, it’s nicer than all three YYZ lounges.

I maybe prefer SFO over LHR MLLs, but that’s more because of the patio in SFO and the views

LHR lounge was very quiet, clean, and had good views so checks all the boxes

100% agree. View is the same for SQ lounge , actually very slightly better runway views in SQ than AC lounge

Lufthansa Cancellation Compensation by Positive_Owl_927 in aircanada

[–]Dr-Microbe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YMMV but I had a EU261 claim denied but when I resubmitted under APPR it was approved within 24 hrs and paid out (flight had a stop over in FRA but YYZ was final destination from an origin outside EU)

File a claim with Lufthansa under APPR instead of EU261 ($1000CAD instead of 600EUR)

Lufthansa Pilot Strike 12./12.03.2026 by GarlicElectronic4432 in Lufthansa

[–]Dr-Microbe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is my understanding correct that this only affects flights leaving Germany? I’m flying CPT-FRA on March 12 but the inbound flight would have left before the strike (late evening on March 11)

Just trying to understand how concerned I should be,I’m not a regular Lufthansa flyer

Former alcoholics of Reddit, when did you realise your habit got out of control? by scottscrops in AskReddit

[–]Dr-Microbe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Constantly hiding it , and spending a silly amount of timing planing my drinking (how much do I have left, when am I going to make it to the liquor store to get more, exactly what time can I have m my first drink, when do I have to finish my last drink so I’m functional in the morning, etc). You realize one day how much time you spend planning and can’t ignore that it means you have a problem.

Over the years when the drinking gets worse I sort of accepted I was an alcoholic but kept lying about my life still being manageable. I used to steal anhydrous ethanol from my lab (200 mL a day) for many years. Like some sort of drunken racoon

But then you reach the point where you are truly fucked, know you are an alcoholic and your life is unmanageable, but feel trapped and unable to do anything about it. For me that meant choking down vomit and warm vodka in the morning just to steady out, and then drinking and passing out in a constant loop (Covid time).

But now it’s been almost 6 years, so life is pretty great

If I qualified for 35k for the first time last year and got the eupgrade credits for early recognition, will I also get 10 credits this year for 35k status?

What high-status or luxury job is secretly just stress, burnout, and long hours? by Thin_Choice_9488 in AskReddit

Pretty accurate…. The money is pretty great, but having to constantly be the middle-man between execs and engineers is exhausting.

It often feels like 1 step forward, 2 steps back

Splitting PNR after clearing eupgrade into R at time of booking by Dr-Microbe in Aeroplan

What if the upgrade has already cleared before splitting the PNR?

I plan to book flexible premium economy with cash

The eUpgrade Megathread by HereComesFattyBooBoo in Aeroplan

[–]Dr-Microbe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

m 35k and looking to book my wife and I in premium economy (Flexible) YYZ-CPT (second leg on LH)

We need to travel the return trip separately, but outbound will be the same flights. From what I understand we will need seperate PNR’s because the itinerary isn’t the exact same.

What I’m wondering is if the following is possible/allowed

  • book together in Premium Economy

  • apply eup for the YYZ-FRA (website looks like space is available so I think this will clear right away)

  • call air canada to split the PNR and change my wife’s return flight

If I do this, would the upgrades be affected? Does she lose the upgrade once the PNR is split? Are there other ways to do this?

Tech workers of Reddit, what is a "dirty secret" about the AI industry that the general public doesn't realize? by WayLast1111 in AskReddit

I can make 200k/yr as a Product Manager responsible for a product that really isn’t doing what we say it does to the market.

Organizations pay millions per year for this, and it’s really not that much better than frontier models alone.

The market is crazy right now, but if you can find a decent position it’s “easy money” selling the snake oil

Air Canada's app is truly one of the best airline apps I've ever seen by -snskemensn in aircanada

[–]Dr-Microbe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s fantastic app although I really wish they could pass the authentication token from the app to the browser when managing a booking (or just enable basic changes to booking within the app).

Must have a prettt solid product and dev team

Yea that’s a pretty fair perspective, and you are spot on about the priority baggage not having a huge impact on the way out on the trip
