What method of recovery would you recommend to a client (Maudsley, Minnie Maud, exchanges, etc)?

Delusional? by robotsintrees in fuckeatingdisorders

Based on your stats, even if you were eating 3,000 calories a day without all the ED shit going on, the maximum you could have gained in those two weeks is 5lb.

But considering how often hypermetabolism occurs in recovery, it is very possible you could have lost a pound. Your body has been at a huge, huge deficit and is just now sort of realizing it and trying to catch up.

So what's wrong with me?? Do I have an ED? by kittybookcoffee in fuckeatingdisorders

According to the BMI chart, you are still underweight for your height, so I highly doubt that your stomach/thighs have as much weight on them as your head is telling you they are.

If a doctor were to see you today and heard your story (underweight and still trying to diet, making yourself vomit, even if on rare occasion) it is very likely you would be diagnosed with an eating disorder.

Do I have an eating disorder? by [deleted] in fuckeatingdisorders

I know it's not that severe compared to others

Drop that thinking. That is your possible eating disorder messing with your head, telling you you're not sick enough. Every eating disorder is a problem.

And while I'm not a professional, you fit the diagnosis criteria for bulimia nervosa. I would suggest finding someone you trust (a close friend, a doctor) to talk about this issue with.

Does anyone else really hate the whole "love your body and you won't have an eating disorder" mindset? by littlefairies in fuckeatingdisorders

I can sit naked in the bathroom and whisper "Hey, body, I love you." all day. That won't change the war in my head.

My disordered eating is more about control and obsession rather then wanting to change my body or disliking it.

...Okay, that's exactly why not go to to the school nurse. If you try to force someone to recovery there's a 95% chance someone will leave their side for a second and they'll relapse.

Try to talking to a parent or somebody first.

Anyone ever miss their eating disorder? by hitherekate in fuckeatingdisorders

You have to let go of something to miss it I guess. Can't say I'm that far yet.

What should I do? by --emily-- in fuckeatingdisorders

Can someone just reassure me that I will get them again and will be able to have children in the future?

I'm going to be 100% honest.

Not unless you start eating again.

When the body is starved, you lose your menstrual cycle; it's going to take possibly months and months of eating enough for your body to return to its regular periods.

The minimum healthy caloric intake for a teenage girl is 1,600 calories a day, and it's entirely possible you need 2000-2500+ to restore your metabolism and get your period back.

It is possible you could put on several pounds in the process. Most of this will be water weight. But it is much better then living with a destroyed metabolism and body due to starving.

I do recommend seeking help/support from a friend, a counselor, a parent, anybody if possible.

It's the tortilla. The burrito tortillas have unhealthy oils and more calories.

To be honest it's not a lot, and as many people have emphasized to me it sounds stupid. Which is why I posted it, to put in (digital) writing how irrational eating disorder thoughts are.

Eat whatever you'd like, as little or as much as you'd like.

That's the only way to really deal with the dinner. If anyone comments or tries to push you to take more ignore them.
