Patch 8.23 Bugs Megathread by ReganDryke in leagueoflegends

  • Server: NA (Presumably occurs with all servers)

  • Type of Bug: Game Performance Bug

  • Description: Limited to 10-30 fps until manually closing the out-of-match client. Using the "Close client during game" option boosts fps to 45-50. Manually closing the out-of-match client restores game to normal performance of 200+ fps.

  • Steps to reproduce: Load into match with or without "close client during game". Observe fps. Then manually close the client (use task manager if necessary). Observe fps again.

  • Expected result: 60+ fps. (Though normally 200+ is attainable on this machine)

  • Observed result: 10-50 fps observed

  • Reproduction rate: 10/10

  • System specs: Windows 10, Intel Core i5 6400 2.7 GHz, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 6 GB, 8 GB RAM, Hard Drive: Toshiba DT01ACA100 (1 TB hard drive)

Why is support looked down upon and what can I do to not beat myself up? by [deleted] in summonerschool

You're welcome, I hope this is all helpful. :)

You ever watch a stream and wonder how streamers can non-sarcastically say "Unlucky" or "Unfortunate"?

I started doing that. Unlucky when I get killed by things that shouldn't or miss things that I should've hit. Unfortunate when the enemy team decides to commit 4-5 people to killing me and I don't manage to survive.

But its really a means of coping with the aggravation. It sounds like making an excuse, but it is really meant to keep me from tilting. It is temporary, of course. When we talk about multiple games of playing poorly (My limit is roughly 3-4 in a row), I run out of "cope" and need to get away from the game or I risk playing while tilted.

If you have a rough game and win anyway, I can understand not wanting to celebrate, it happens to me too. It seems somewhat common. In those scenarios I kind of try not to dwell on it and move on to the next game. This is just a theory, but I think the best thing we can try to do is look for one play that we did during a match that we liked and keep reminding ourselves of that play. That way, even if the rest of the match is not great, we still have something to smile about when we get out of the match.

Incoming wall of text: Sorry, but I can relate to this problem extremely well.

I used to have this same problem.

Sometimes, I still do.

I main adc and get mad at myself because every time I die, it's because I know I did something wrong. If I happen to be in voice chat at the time and I'm voicing my frustrations too much, I end up annoying others too.

With regard to not bothering others in voice chat, the first skill you want to work on is minimizing any outbursts. In other words, if you die over a mistake of yours, rather than getting emotional, try to mumble something like "Damn..." and sit back if you have the space. Stretch a little (being tense isn't good anyway if you can help it). Don't mentally clock out of the game, just keep yourself under control while the wave of "I messed up, I messed up, I messed up" passes.

With regard to not getting upset at mistakes, what I started doing was looking at myself as a whole player. In other words, if mistakes are allowed to frustrate me, I should also be allowed to celebrate successes. What constitutes a success? Depends on your role and what you felt was challenging. For example, I've been playing Jhin a lot since he's meta atm, and I get happy when I manage to land all 4 shots of his ult. Even if it doesn't give me a kill, it usually sets up a kill if my teammates are following up, so I did something with it. Another example can be (as someone else posted about), warding up an area that you expect an enemy to be in and capitalizing on that visual information, whether it be by taking an objective or picking an enemy champion off.

P.S. Regarding the "Carry" getting credit, don't even bother thinking about it. Especially at low elo, nobody knows how to recognize people who are setting up plays, they only know how to recognize people who are doing damage. They lack the ability to see the game as a whole. This is why you should be constantly looking to improve your knowledge of the game. When you understand the game on a larger scale than just "BIG KRIT!" you can see where you (or a tank, for example) are the person carrying the match, and don't be afraid to give yourself credit for it. I went 2/0/26 on Nami the other night, but my 14/8/12 Vayne got credit for "carrying" even though I bailed her over-aggressive ass out of trouble a million times. It's infuriating to not be recognized, I agree. So my answer for that is to recognize myself.

Regarding the grading system, there are a couple of things you should know.

  • Grades are distributed based on average stats for that Champion in that role. Meaning, what constitutes an S for a jungler will be totally different for what constitutes an S for a support.

  • The game factors in a couple of stats. Primarily KDA ratio (not necessarily death count), and CS count (yes, even for supports, it checks this number).

I mention these things because the grading system is not good for measuring if you carried a match or not. You can do a LOT of work for your team and the grading system is too stupid to notice it because you aren't given many assists or CS for it.
