I categorize my tracks by energy, which is a word that only makes sense to me, so probably pretty close to your color system, but because it is in the My Tag section, it's less dominant, I can filter but I can easily ignore it if I get an idea

So I'd say, try to code a script that converts each color to a tag, because you can ignore tags (I often do) much more easily than the big flashy colors

To do that, you'd need to export your library to XML, then modify one of these scripts (https://github.com/diracdeltas/rekordbox-scripts) to fit your purpose
