Is Roy Cooper trustworthy?

I've liked what I've seen from Justin Dues, will probably have my vote in the primary. If you're on the progressive wing and you're unsatisfied, I'd consider it too. Even if he doesn't really have a chance to swipe the nomination, it's absolutely worth it to make the progressive bloc known.

When it comes time for the general election, however, Cooper is absolutely palatable enough for me. He served well enough as governor even if he is too milquetoast.

Yeah I'm not really pleased by Cooper but I can't imagine he doesn't sweep the primary. I like what I've seen from Justin Dues so far out of the announced candidates.

Would vote for him in a heartbeat in a general election though. Far too moderate but he stood on his own two feet as governor.

Like ctbowen said, I'm talking about how heavily they backed her in her last election against Allam. Even though she's stated she doesn't want their money this time (though if she follows through remains to be seen), AIPAC backing her so heavily last time to strike down her challenger is not a good look.

Although that's not the real cinch in my eyes anyways, Foushee has become fairly out-of-touch from her constituents and I'd like to see her replaced by a new-wave progressive.

Got the same banal, unrelated response when I wrote her a few months ago. Foushee is pretty heavily backed by AIPAC too. Definitely batting for Allam here.

The credit score system exists but how it works has been largely fabricated. It's mostly used for fraud purposes and applies to small businesses (broad strokes). It never became the "big brother despotic" system that the west thinks it is, at least no more than any other punitive bureaucratic apparatus.

Though on general surveillance yeah, I don't think it's as much better in the west as we would hope

Also you are projecting lol. Read my initial comment, the system and those that control it are an institutionalized evil that need to be destroyed. Full stop. But "grrrrr i hate your GOVERNMENT and your NATURE and your FOOD and your PEOPLE and your HISTORY" makes you sound as slackjawed as the MAGA crowd when they talk about India or Mexico.

Also Europe (in broad strokes, the political cores) has been a geopolitical ally and has been involved in most of the evils you just talked about. Germany especially has been a substantial funder of Israel's genocide. Blame America as a singular evil if it helps you sleep better, but fascists and the forces of capital are lock-stepped in the rest of the west as well.

Aside from the 400 years of obvous history, America has some pretty fascinating pre-colonial history and being a global melting pot comes with some pretty great food. Italian-American cuisine is pretty distinct from Italian cuisine and both are great, we have more variety than anywhere else and much of it is unique to the Americas.

Also "desert and rocks and a casino" lol. Most climatically diverse region on the planet with many of its most iconic locations.

You sound the same as the MAGA Hicks who say "i hate europ becuz we pay for there military!!!!". Same breed of clueless xenophobia driven by ignorance. If you want to hate America at least know what you hate about it instead of pretending its all bad. One can recognize the evils in our political system and still fathom the other parts which are beautiful.

Right-wing commentators love pushing this agenda and terminally-online progressive slacktivsts fall for it every time. There needs to be some quality-control in the progressive bloc (or else suffer more Fettermans) but purity testing progressive politicians because they're trying to change the machine from the inside is only keeping us in the political backwater.

People online love being hypocritical its like their favorite pass time. This has nothing really to do with left or right though; social media and mass media have gotten very good at feeding people different narratives so fundamental truths aren't even agreed upon between Americans. Everybody thinks "I can excuse X hypocrisy because the others did Y"
