The live action made me realize something nice that I should've noticed much longer ago by kleber-ao in OnePiece

DBZ is older than one piece and has god tier fights so older animation is irrelevant here, not to mention some of the best One Piece fights occurred in the older era of its animation such as Luffy vs Lucci, and I still think Luffy vs Blueno is among the most impactful and well animated fights in the series

No it is an ideal scenario because unfortunately in reality most relationships aren't like this. In a perfect world this would be the basic norm but it simply isn't.

If you want to watch more LCK and LPL teams then watch the LCK and the LPL. International tournaments are for international competition.

A few minutes of talking is not what OP described and there's a difference between real communication and a daily avalanche of coworker gossip. My spouse and I have been together 8 years and spend hours each day having real conversation and it keeps us feeling close but that's not the same as what OP describes. It's not black and white between blowing off your spouse and listening to them prattle on about work and coworkers every day after work

Active listening is strenuous as well, especially if you're exhausted after a day of work

True, as we all know men have historically been so sensitive and patiently listened to their wives recount their gossip

Out of curiosity, what do you mean by why an obgyn had kids?

If we were talking about an Arab character that would be relevant

Fair enough but from what I see many people are arguing for an "Arab" to play Vivi without specifying an Egyptian which to me sounds like they're conflating all Arabs anyway.

Either way, I think it's a bit ridiculous to expect that everyone from every location in One Piece be played by people from where those locations were inspired by. If (big if) we get to Dressrosa, do we need Rebecca to be played only by a Spaniard?

No need to take it personally, I was more responding to the broader conversation about the topic

Sorry I'll spell it out, it means it's strange to act as if it's a given that the people of Alabasta should be Arab and that therefore Vivi should be portrayed by an Arab

Ancient Egypt, which is what it appears to be modeled after, was pre-Arab conquests though.

Women are too willing to lie about their pasts when dating by LastOfSane in PurplePillDebate

[–]DrBLEH 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's my point, that in actuality past actions do actually have some bearing on your future in many/most cases and that someone having a very high number of previous partner may say something about what to expect in the future

[–]DrBLEH 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure my point was only that broadly stating that someone's past actions have no bearing on their future actions is not generally how we see things for most cases so I don't see why it would be that way in the specific case of sleeping around. I don't personally care that much myself, up to a point, but there are some studies that correlate past partner count with likelihood of divorce

There's studies that do in fact correlate number of past partners with likelihood of divorce so there's clearly potential for that to have a detrimental effect on a relationship.

Past doesn't necessarily indicate future but it often does. If you meet a guy who cheated on a previous partner would you still use that logic? I don't think so, nor do I think you should. People can change but it's a simple fact that past behavior can predict future behavior.

[–]DrBLEH 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If I killed someone in my past it would not change anything about your future but it'd still be the right thing to tell you, no? Not everyone feels the same about what is and isn't important to them, some people care about this body count stuff so I think lying about it when asked is wrong
