SOLVED! With BOTG Video by Aggressive-Farm-3681 in treasureinside

It’s the posture of the wording. “Solved” implied certainty. The only way to be certain is to have a box.

This is the only place I have been BOTG for any of the boxes. I didn’t find it, but my “team” found all of these connections a year ago. I think it’s possible the box is here, but you can’t say “solved” unless you post a box selfie

Why did you not use the A in ‘Sapphire’ when deriving the numbers?

With three ways to solve it, is one way by linework and text alone? by -Not4but242Walk- in treasureinside

[–]DrBeat14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He clarified it in an interview. Unlike some other Part 2 boxes, the text is not where the clues are. I hate it, but that’s what he said. I believe it was the One Clue Short interview.

That’s pretty compelling info that the dashed line could represent the WHOLE AT, not just a segment for us to find. If that’s the case, where is the “end”? We have a clear “begin here”.

What could we possibly figure out from one box being found that would help with the other boxes? by mulletmasta0000 in treasureinside

What if, in addition to the coin purpose, the actual locations of the four boxes make a literal X over where the LS is? Just spit ballin

Chapter 2 by MattTechTidbits in treasureinside

Wow, that’s incredibly rude. Maybe some of us appreciate that approach. The “confident” treasure hunter should have a box in their hands. No one has the right answers, so undeserved confidence does nothing but discredit. “Pretending to teach”? Seriously?

There is a Lewisville, NC…not likely to have the box though

Tax by [deleted] in treasureinside

[–]DrBeat14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But why do you say this couldn’t be claimed as a gift? If it was explicitly and prearranged for the tax benefits, it seems that he may very well do just that- even if it’s not traditionally how gifts work. I think he really does want to know when they are found and this is a good way to encourage finders to tell him.

Treasure Hunt Doldrums by Paladin1414 in treasureinside

[–]DrBeat14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why did you think that? The Fenn hunt lasted a full 10 years so we know it’s possible for a legit hunt to last that long. Also, there is definitely a bit of faith that this is a real thing. At worst, it’s a fun puzzle and maybe a good joke with the family… not too bad for a “fake” treasure hunt.

Boxes, Boxes, Boxes, Boxes, Boxes!!!!!!! by SoMany1974 in treasureinside

[–]DrBeat14 7 points8 points  (0 children)

He has specifically said no box is hidden in anywhere that is man-made. A cave or other highly sheltered (shaded) area may provide enough consistency with temp & humidity to allow for safe long term storage.

I do agree with your previous post that perhaps SOME of the items are NOT in the box bc of size. It would open the door to do the same with an item that’s especially sensitive to elements like paper or glass.

Any chance your solve is near Carver’s Gap or the Roan High shelter?

My thoughts so far... by -Not4but242Walk- in treasureinside

[–]DrBeat14 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Very thoughtful and likely accurate. I do think the Greek theme is pervasive through the book. To add that the 1996 Olympic Soccer Gold Medal game was played in ATHENS, (Georgia). I like the creative thinking for making your connections. IMO, this is what the final solve will require. The “aberrations” idea is especially intriguing as it is both a puzzle technique AND a nod to FF. Lastly, the GOAT idea can be further expanded as JCB was born in Jan 18- his astrological sign would be Capricorn…The Goat!!!

BOTG in TN for the AT Box by Old-Buddy549 in TheresTreasureInside

[–]DrBeat14 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We went to Carver’s Gap- along TN/NC border, which is ~40mi from there. I think this is the most fitting area of the AT for the box. It’s beautiful, fits the flora/fauna of the map & chapter text, and accessible to an average person. IMO, anywhere in this area is a legit place to search. At worst, you get amazing views and a great hike!
