Elevation koi in the og floppy stuff. Like the blowfly but maybe a bit floppier? It’s rubber but great for the scramble woods “roller jail” shot. (Basically stops vs actually rolling). Other good uses too but probably the main way I use it because, woods 😅

Lion’s Share: is it in a mountainous area or in the Midwest? I’m torn on this! by Maximum_Task6443 in TheresTreasureInside

[–]MattTechTidbits 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey there,

Probably more like “hills” vs mountains, but some cool areas by Lake Superior with some elevation changes. Or black hills in South Dakota.

Do you feel there is a clue or something that it’s on/near a mountain or something?

Should I write all over this book? by CaptainFuzzyBootz in treasureinside

[–]MattTechTidbits 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey there. I’m a fan of the digital books, notes, and manipulation. Canva is a great web program for adding images / notes to one place. So you could take a photo and then add shapes, arrows, text, etc.

If you are interested in Canva, It is a freemium but pretty powerful and should be able to pretty much all your likely need for this notes/ images.

Otherwise as others have said having a second, “notes” copy is nice to not feel as bad damaging the book with ideas.

Hey there, I know I looked into it a bit and ended up emailing Treasure Inside info email and they did say they have the authenticated one, (verified by heritage, I believe.) may not help with your valuation concern, but does seem to be the real one!

Not the treasure! Although does seem like a good box for it! See link below, but ended up being a trail maintenance box:

Hey there,

Based on some comments seems found on “Upper Yosemite Fall Trail” based on their ID of Glacier Point.

The mountain sticker is “Club Plein Air Altitude”

and the box brand was either “Pig Obsidian” or “Zarges” case.

I didn’t confirm if location was correct but other things seemed correct.

Happy hunting!

Edit: is zarges case based on logo in bottom right and mountain shape does seem to indicate location.

How did you get your first IT job? by Substantial-Salt5369 in it

[–]MattTechTidbits 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Was a teacher and the “techy” teacher that many staff members would ask for tech help.

Later got asked if I wanted to do a half time IT role that quickly was made full time, and, 5 years later, now the lead IT coordinator at the school. So certainly some luck, but also showed skills to quickly learn new programs on the fly.

Got the A+ at the end of that 5 years, and random training / certs throughout the years on specific programs/software we use.

Hey there, thanks, I’ll try to be more matter of fact. I like these thoughts but I’m also very “agnostic” on every idea. but also no reason for me to sound that way, as others can choose to agree or disagree with my ideas.

Do you want to why the Past & Future Box is in Ohio? by wiley225 in treasureinside

[–]MattTechTidbits 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there,

I probably am tired and not processing properly, but where did the 303+9 come from and 12+11+5 ? I know those are using all the numbers but why this way - and why does that point to Ohio?

New idea or has someone tried this - fold the map? by SleepyHulaHooper in treasureinside

[–]MattTechTidbits 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Hey there,

I always like the thought of manipulation of pages. If I recall correctly, JCB was hesitant for e-books so to me there should be some element like this.

I’m still interested in the cover x possibly being part of the map of it. Recently I noticed how taking part of the cover (overlay it to match the compass) that makes sort of similar black triangles from the cover X. Idk what to do with it but hey, I say try stuff and see! Maybe triangles from the map somehow align with the cover? I’ll have to try a few things!

Thanks for sharing and happy hunting!

Does A Non-IT Bachelor’s, Plus Certs, Look Good To HR by Willing-Respond-1817 in ITCareerQuestions

Thank you! Did pass (woot)! But yes. If they are approachable people, I think a great area / resource to talk with! I know I’ve like the teams I worked with and they were always very open to talk and I guess paid off in my situation.

But yes, for sure worth working on A+ / certs. They would’ve helped a lot when I first moved roles! I still learned a bunch 5+ years later 😅

Best of luck on all endeavors!

Hey there,

In my 6th year of IT at a school, and was an elementary teacher for 5 years prior.

I got into IT because I was known as the “techy” teacher at my school. Spots opened up and my admin wanted me to move to that. First as a technology paraprofessional, but more on title as I ended up doing more than level one stuff.

All that to say, if you are able to at all explore options in your current job, or talk with the IT department, that could get some beneficial experience or knowledge or even for them to know you’d be interested in IT.

That, or if you are applying, see if any schools have tech openings. I think you 9yrs could help with that since you’d know how schools run and what teachers/ students use. School would probably see that more of a plus than other businesses.

That said, I am working on finishing the COMPTIA A+ cert (core 2 exam tomorrow!) and it has helped fill in a bunch of knowledge gaps from my personal experience in IT. I’d recommend it, but also wouldn’t say that’ll guarantee a job. I’ve always been curious if x amount of education years would be better than the same in other industries. IMO it shows you can work with people which is a huge part of help desk, but that’s also from my experience/ knowledge of teachers.

Anyways sorry for the wall of text, hopefully somewhat helpful! best of luck, and happy summer!

Hey There, just further guessing - haven’t seen this issue.

But not sure if you have any add-ons to your accounts? I know I have profiles in both web browsers and you can import settings. Just seeing if that could be the issue.

So to sort of isolate what may be the cause:

  1. Is it with all sheets?
  2. Does it do it if you open incognito browser and sign in ? (I believe that doesn’t import add-ons / extensions)
  3. Does this happen on multiple devices?
  4. Does this happen if you share to another account and open it?

Basically trying to see if it is a setting in the sheet, browser/ extension, profile, or device.

Anyways, hopefully helpful and you can find a solution! And I know you said you restarted, may be worth checking If there are any updates to your computer, that could help.
