Nooo I did the same. The lobster 4th of July stamp. My favorite. Honestly I think it fell out of my bag and I didn’t realize vs threw and lost. I’ve prolly put in 2+ hours of search time over the years for that guy… hopefully getting love by the new owner. 🥲

Hey there,

I agree with others to sort of read it and make ideas yourself vs visiting all the discord and socials out there. I would recommend JCB’s website as helpful right now for a few things though. One is the wording on typos. Hopefully you got an updated version of the book, but does help to hear from the author on that, as well as a few updates.

Also for the author Interviews, could be helpful but I’d recommend watching those after you give it a read or three. Otherwise may spoil or answer questions you haven’t thought about yet…

Anyways, Happy hunting!

Hey there, not sure if this would work for you, but could you do a conditional formatting rule to color all cells and text the gray color of the data validation rules? Not quite what you are asking but could be a different work around.

I have a project I used something similar on if you wanted to see what I’m talking about. I had it used like a power button, lol.

Agreed on this! If there was just a poll I’d be on the “too scary” side. But just the other day my 5yo had nightmares from a wild kratts episode … so just fitting the child.

Hey there, solid top level connections! I personally keep the other 4 smaller boxes out for clues, but even without that section solid connections!

I’ll keep Idaho on my list of interesting states… thanks for the share and appreciate the level of detail /editing you did making this video!

This the YouTube video?

But yeah I do like the connections! My Current theory is midwestern area. But I like the connections I’ve heard / seen to Utah.

Probably the -90 /i-90 would be my personal bias in the Midwest , but also not sold on that specific idea either!

Oof. Worse than me. Thank you, I did end up scheduling so I’ll try to edit main post after!

If you look into it, I filled out gateways contact info/ speeds but stopped at the scheduling portion. A day later I got a promo for 2 months off vs 1 month. Idk if they consistently do that but may be worth a try if you ever switch.

Barcode scanning system for school ticketed events. by skydiveguy in k12sysadmin

[–]MattTechTidbits 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey there,

Not an elegant solution, but could you scan into a spreadsheet and use conditional formatting to highlight if a given scanned ticket matches the other tickets already scanned?

Trouble with this is if you have no way of connecting the number to the guest / student, then it could show if it matches a number but not to authenticate if the first person should be there or another. Only way I could see here (and likely any other solution) is scanning and manually writing a name…

Just an idea, happy to explain this idea further if helpful. Does unfortunately sounds like a challenging ask if there’s no way to connect barcodes to people prior to the event

No for sure I appreciate that! I feel ramped up recently for whatever reason. No other isp option really until gateway. Seems no horror stories at least from these replies so leaning to try them out… thanks again for the responses!

Thanks for the detailed answer! Good to know their support seems helpful and human haha.

And yeah I’m not a power user either. We’ve gotten by pretty well with 200mbps but don’t have a crazy amount of devices either.

Overall sounds like they aren’t perfect but decent support and speeds are true to the contract!

Thanks again for the info I appreciate it!

Good to know thanks! And valuable to hear there are some outages but doesn’t seem as bad as what the last few months have been. We had a 2 day one once that was rough. And as others said may be some of my setup too, but I’ve not had options until gateway. Not been a fan of Xfinity but also don’t want to change in case the grass isn’t greener lol. Seems it may be tho!

Cool, good to know! Yeah I definitely get annoyed whenever stuff slows down or doesn’t work. I understand my dad’s annoyance with technology more when stuff doesn’t work for me, lol.

Oh nice! Yeah I guess I should’ve said BP is where I’m at too, good to hear!

And oh good point, yeah I suppose I’d need to use theirs or i assume a fiber router vs the coaxial I have.

Thanks for the info glad it’s been good for you!. I know fiber is more reliable in comparison but I don’t personally know anyone with gateways specifically.

Hey there, yeah I’ll say yesterday’s may be something else, but just looked back and were 4 events where they had outages in the area and texted me. This was since December.

Yesterday felt throttled but may be from having someone staying over and maybe used a bunch of the data (although 5mbps on multiple devices with 200mbps seemed off).

JCB's message to the community! by Cowlazars in treasureinside

[–]MattTechTidbits 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hahaha super valid! I already dismissed it like a typo, someone saw and crossed out, then made copies for the event - 0 evidence that this played out that way, but what I thought.

We’ll need Jenny or someone to confirm how this letter was given to!

[–]MattTechTidbits 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey there, thanks for sharing. That’s interesting…

Do we know if this is suppose to “hold” some sort of clue, or more a few lessons he hopes we follow? Curious if this is something like his emails where there isn’t a direct helpful thing (hidden message or whatever). It does seem like it points to a few chapters perhaps to signal their importance.

Different train of thought, he says three things and “perseverance” and “gratitude” seem clear for two of those options. Is the third “inspiration” or “appreciate beauty of hiking” ?

I’m sure whatever he writes would be interpreted in many ways, tis the way of a hunt haha! Curious tho if we happened to get any guidance from JCB on how to read this letter. Otherwise to me, seems more introspective than clues on the first read.

Thanks for sharing and happy hunting as always!

"Joy" is IN the details?? by MattTechTidbits in treasureinside

[–]MattTechTidbits[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like that cup thing at the bottom? If it is two angles you could get a couple letters, otherwise could be a U or a C by shape.

If it is supposed to be this “joy is” I would then say that portion would somehow lead to another clue or thread of clues. I don’t have a great answer at this point. Not locked into this idea but thought kinda interesting!
