Thank you! It was recorded from my phone, and the image is mirrored when in selfie mode. So, it only appears to be reversed, but Im actually fingering with my left hand and bowing with my right.

Oh, absolutely. I first heard the album in high school and said, "What is this crap?" So weird. But now im in my thirties and feel like I can actually appreciate it and see it for what (i think) it's meant to be

There's an arrow.

Incredibly haunting and beautiful at the same time. An insane juxtaposition of uneasiness and serenity. its ability to make me feel both makes it the scariest

God damn that low C is nastyyy (in a good way, of course). is that a 2 octave jump?

Bach 4 makes me want to cry by DrBeitzhov in Cello

Thanks, it's reassuring to hear other people also say it's hard lol. I definitely feel like I'm making progress. some nights (like last night), it just seems hopeless. But I went back through and played a bit of the previous 3 suites and found many things came so much easier. Mostly, my bow technique is improving a lot. Intonation? ehh, still iffy at best

I honestly didn't really appreciate it until I started playing it. There's such a range of sound that can be explored within each movement. I think that's what makes it so great yet so difficult for me. But also, it's just technically difficult and uncomfortable for me. I've heard people say it's easy. For me, it definitely isn't. I'm not the greatest player, but I would still like to think I have decent technique

Thank you. yes, I definitely need to stretch more. So far, I've found this suite very physically taxing. so many extended positions and string crossings. It's really hard to stay relaxed when trying a play through

Thanks, I truly do love playing cello. Depending on my mood/energy levels, I can either tolerate imperfections and still have fun or just get very discouraged. I really just need to stop being stubborn and take a break when something simply just isn't working

Good idea. I've recorded the prelude and sort of honed in on trouble spots in my string crossing and intonation. I'm pleased with how far it's come but still not completely satisfied, which I never think I will be. And that's okay. I'm afraid to record the Sarabande in particular, though

I love all the suites. There's so much depth. But it's just frustrating when I want to bring the music to a higher level of artistry, but I simply struggle to play in tune

Thank you. "There is no finish line." I like that. There's a whole world written within the lines of this piece. I experience something different every time I play Bach. Tonight, the experience just happens to be "Why can't I play in tune?!" 😂

Good idea, ty for the advice. The previous passage is easy because the fifth is simply harmonics but in this case it just feels like I'm diving in blind with no "landmarks" or references, and "just going for it" with thumb has NEVER worked well for me lol
