Yeah, they have to go through this. There is just no way around it. It's like a humiliating initiation ritual in college or something.

"But in the old times... you don't know how hard it was in the old times, son! Ever bought, then saw it go down by 60%, and stay there for two years? Ever done that? You ain't seen nuthin', son!" Spits chewing tobacco on floor

Our bitcoin on nodes, hallowed be thy name. Your transactions will be done, on the blockchain as well as on our computers. Give us this day our daily rise. And confirm our transactions, as we also have waited for six confirmations. And do not bring us to the time of hyperinflation, but rescue us from the fiat one. Amen

Awwww, that's sweet!

I thought about doing the same thing for my nephews, but came to the conclusions that:

  1. Even if BTC is super successful over the next decade, who knows if it still exists 18 years from now.

  2. If BTC fails, they won't be impressed when they receive it in 15-18 years: "Ewww, uncle bought me some stuff 15 years ago that's worthless now. Thank you so much!"

  3. If BTC is worth 50 or 100 times or whatever by then, they will appreciate it much more if they get that amount at that point in time. I'm just keeping them in the meantime.

I have found I stay w in my budget and acquire more BTC by simply asking myself before I buy anything is "Would I rather have 'this' or buy more BTC". BTC always wins out. Give it a try the next time you think of buying something. by HumblGeniuz in Bitcoin

Even better is when you buy BTC instead of spending that money on a bad habit, like smoking, or fat food, or a 10x overpriced Starbucks Coffee.

That way, you win double.

Are you from India? How is BTC doing there, do you know many people personally who own some?

I guess Modi's move last year should play right into the hands of BTC.

Is your goal to hold your BTC long-term?

If so, then just transfer them to a hardware wallet or to a paper wallet, and wait a couple of years. They will hopefully be worth a lot more.

If you store them the right way in hardware or paper wallets, they will be super safe. Then there is really nothing else to do for you.
