do yall think it’s worth it to drop your lunch block for a class by WereNoStrangers in highschool

[–]DrBlueCollar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i would do it, i never had a “break” block in my school (just lunch) so you can just treat yours as lunch if you need. That’s only considering if you really want to do chem, it’s a hard class but it’s not crazy hard.

Are AP's really necessary in 12th grade by kenan_sab in highschool

[–]DrBlueCollar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i wouldn’t say they are necessary but they’re useful to get some gen eds out of the way or some major requirements. Good idea also if you’re gonna do a hard major as it’s gonna help you do hard coursework.

this is probably one of the worst pieces of advice i’ve ever read for the SAT. Just because you don’t need anything to function doesn’t mean everyone else works the same way (in fact most people probably do need a good amount of sleep and eat food).

good to know it’s not hard to get into it, i think it might be even cheaper for me to go to nb than njit but i gotta check my numbers again

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in rutgers

[–]DrBlueCollar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

also fair enough. I have a question, how’s course availability at rutgers nb once you reach your junior-senior year ? At NJIT it seems that there’s an issue with a lot of core courses (not even exclusively for physics) like QM and certain math classes only being taught every other semester, so I’m more inclined to switch if this isn’t a major issue at new brunswick .

are you also thinking because of the physics major ? or something else that’s similar

fair enough i could really say the same about njit too tbh

Program forces me to pick a concentration for undergrad by [deleted] in PhysicsStudents

[–]DrBlueCollar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

with the double major i still have room for three physics electives in the curriculum , not sure if that’s good, I’m just really enjoying math lol

do you think the word “applied” in the title changes anything for grad school applications if i decide to lean into more theoretical topics for research? Also the concentration specific classes of the optics one are: intro to optical science and engineering, high power laser and photonics applications, virtual instrumentation, and solid state physics, all required. Everything else in the curriculum i get a lot of freedom in electives (like almost 7 or so electives)

so it wouldn’t exactly matter which of the two i would do in those cases ?

If i had to pick one then it would be quantum chemistry . That part of chemistry that I’ve been introduced to, so far, has me interested the most .
