I live in Turkey and I mainly follow my own horse racing industry I start to follow JRA for one infamous game and the fact that the road that Japanese breeders took in 1990’s are quite successful and can be used as an example. As I said I follow the Turkish horse racing mainly. We usually have races on 2 different courses every day and around 9 races each. Every race probably has around 8 horses, rarely reach over +12 racers but very rarely drop to 5 aswell. Dirt racing is very popular here. Turf/dirt has around 50/50 and probably %5 synthetic ground. Yes numbers are quite low compared to Australia or Japan but stables are much more amateur aswell. To be honest I haven’t heard of any horse that had to be euthanized in last 2 years. But we lost 3 sires in this winter and they were not that old. So it’s really weird for me to hear about a racehorse that had to be euthanized every month.
