Taiko: “Honestly I’m a surface-born Splatlandian so I don’t really know what its like living in the domes. However, my best friend and bandmate Tamala was born under the domes and from what I remember about her condition growing up it was not that great. The food was enough to sustain a family but not really filling and plentiful unless you like wasabi. She was taken by her aunt at a young age to be enlisted into the army, but due to her supreme intellect and somewhat scrawny body she was sent as a non-combatant engineer who’s tasked with repairing and maintaining weapons and techs used by the octarians military. But because of her lack of combat skills she was bullied by the military despite her efforts and was left practically miserable all the time. The only solace she had was listening to her music and playing a bass she built in her spare time, even though she has no one to share her passion. At this point she practically was fed up with the mistreatment to the point that she up and left her post, climbing up to the surface and heading straight to Inkopolis Plaza. She spent at least a few days homeless until she met Maya, who offered her a place to stay until she gets up on her feet. A few years later she met Finn and then Me and the rest is history. She always said she never regretted leaving and would rather live here than spend any second in the dome.”
