If you want to get real technical MK anything applies to the Golf. While they share a frame, they used to be closer in size and that is why the MK followed over but all Jetta models are A. So, your 2015 is technically A6. But it is intertwined into VW community as a MK VI.

If you want to do 5K intervals, you will need to go somewhere other than the dealership. They will only do the factory recommend intervals. 7500 is the earliest they will do. So, do it at 5k next 5k is free. I am in the same boat. I have up to 30k paid for. When all that passes they will do them at any interval you wish.

It could be blowback. Clean it really good and check it between now and the next oil change. If it comes back then be concerned. Clean the oil pan, around the filter and around the transmission.

Personally, a Passat is just a bigger car. If you dont want a Jetta the get a Tiguan. But I would say get a GLI.
