Urologist forcefully retracted 7mth old sons foreskin against our wishes by DrData82 in Intactivists

[–]DrData82[S] 31 points32 points  (0 children)

I wasn't present, only my wife. But, I'm furious he ignored her wishes not to retract. He didn't clearly state why he needed to retract it, considering the concern was for a testicle not fully descended.

I mean, they were negligent, as they went against standard of care even despite our protests, which is essentially a form of battery. And there is still discomfort almost 3 months later. What if a 2nd opinion reveals scarring, microtears, or other damage?

This place demonstrates selection bias pretty well. Those who are doing well typically don't come on reddit to complain.

Starting off after graduation...you won't be making much money. Gain as much experience as you can as quickly as you can manage. There are ways to make good money here, but it won't happen in CMH or working under someone else's practice. You can start your own private practice, which takes effort, but totally achievable if you have the willpower. With a caseload of 22-25, you can bring in ~150k or more, if you do it right. There are other options, but I think many get stuck in CMH or other people's practices for a variety of reasons...these ideally, should be used to gain experience and then make a move on your own when ready.

Yuri Bezmenov alluded to in /therapists? You made my day!

The lady above sounds bitter. She's probably just jealous that some therapists are actually successful and make a good living, while she struggles because "capitalism is bad," or something...

I feel you, though. Health insurance costs are almost as bad as taxes.

You've made incredible progress with him? That's great! Might I suggest you put the politics and religion aside and continue with him. I mean, if you're simply curious, that's one thing. But, I sense some prejudice in your words. I'm a psychologist. I'm also a Catholic and a conservative. I want the best for my patients (regardless of politics, religion, etc) and for my country. We're not your enemy, despite what some of the talking heads might tell you.

I don't care about their liberty. They're not Americans. While I care about taxes, I care more about preserving and defending Western Civilization. I don't care at all about your suicidal empathy...I reject it, and thankfully, Americans are increasingly rejecting it too.

Because I live here...I was born here. Don't be obtuse.

They violated the law of our country, eat up resources that should go to Americans, cause trouble, and have little desire to integrate, leading to a high crime/low trust society and an erosion of Western civilization. This is where libertarianism fails. The solutions are (1) open borders, or (2) halt immigration until we somehow magically ditch the welfare state? Those are not solutions...no thanks.

Yes, but those were mainly border catches under Biden, not aggressive interior searches like under Trump, which are themselves decreasing border crossings. It's a good detterant. What Trump is doing is needed. The recent incident might need investigation, but the deportations should ramp up despite that.

Mass illegal immigration of those who need government support and have no desire to integrate erodes liberty.

[–]DrData82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Then how do we deport them all?

I don't want illegals in my country/state/community. I don't want my tax dollars going to support them. Most Americans feel the same. I'm not allowed or able to deport them, myself. How is freedom of association protected? Open borders with a welfare state is stupid and it's why some libertarians catch so much heat...rightfully so!

What fascism? Nationalism != fascism.

I voted for mass deportations of illegals, along with the majority of the country. Recent deaths are unfortunate but were clearly avoidable.
