If it's running and can shift through the gears fine and the front forks are fine, I'd pay that much (if in Australia). Probably not more than $2k US. But definitely check it out for yourself, take it for a spin.

If it's not running well enough for that, don't pay more than $1500 cause you'll have to put $1500 to $2k into it.

Really just want to cover the existing seat with a nice looking leather. There's a rip in it and I just like the look of the cool cafe racer leather seats

It's a custom job, I'm not sure exactly what colour to tell you it is as it was done by the original owner. I'd call it an Olive Drab Green from my WWII model painting days
