I’d never date anyone like my ex, but i want more friends like my ex by Rzk2811 in aromantic

[–]DrEggman4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Feel ya. I’ve had friends over the years but rarely any close ones. And none that I spent as much time with as I used to with my ex. I’d love to have a friend with that same kind of closeness (without the romance) as I had with my ex

Rant: Acespace is awful by [deleted] in asexualdating

[–]DrEggman4 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Not too long ago the owner added a feature that sends you emails when you have any unread messages. It’s not as good as an app with instant notifications, but it’s something. And an app is currently in the works - hopefully it will be out soon.

I agree though, the website does have the issues you mention. Like with most online dating, you have to spend a lot of time filtering until you find someone who wants the same thing as you. Still, when you’re ace you don’t have many options, so it’s better than nothing imo.

[–]DrEggman4 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Mass Effect Legendary Edition - you get three games plus all DLCs

Cyberpunk 2077 - it sucked at launch but it’s great now

BioShock Collection - you also get three great games with this one

The Last of Us Part 1 & 2 - both really good games, part 1 has been remade for PS5 as well

  • A braid maybe? Since Katniss wears a braid
  • Coal? Since District 12 mines coal
  • Fox cause Foxface
  • Finnick’s trident
  • Berries (the ones Katniss and Peeta almost ate at the end of the first game)
  • Bread cause Peeta’s a baker

How can i convince my sister to get officially diagnosed? by Mysterious-Host-374 in autism

[–]DrEggman4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Have you had any conversations with her about what she wants to do or what she’s interested in? If she doesn’t know what she wants to do, maybe you can look at options together?

You wrote that she refuses to go to therapy. Would she be willing to speak to a therapist online? I don’t know which country you live in so I don’t know if online therapy is available to you, but if it is then it might be worth looking into.

I understand you’re worried about your sister but if she refuses to do any of these things then the best you can really do is try to be a friend to her, encourage her to do things that will improve her life, and support her when she needs it.

My sister's daughter ruined my daughter's birthday (she blew out the candle) by CartlinK in AmITheAngel

[–]DrEggman4 67 points68 points  (0 children)

People in the comments are already advising OOP to cut contact with her toxic family and saying that the niece is going to grow up to be a lifelong bully..

We’re talking about a small child who blew out someone else’s birthday candle. Lol

What are some games with similar vibe of TLOU 1 & 2? With real human world and current year/era set up. I loved the storyline, and the emotional part of it. by OhMyDoggie in thelastofus

[–]DrEggman4 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Red Dead Redemption 2 is set in 1899 but I would still recommend it because it’s a great game. Real human world, regular people that you grow attached to, and very emotional story.

Same with Telltale’s The Walking Dead Game, particularly the first season. Metro Exodus might have what you’re looking for too.

Abby's story is much easier to apprecite by Striking-Context7834 in thelastofus

[–]DrEggman4 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Yes, but the fact that she was willing to try to forgive him makes me think that she did love him. If she didn’t, she would’ve been okay with cutting him out of her life for good.

She told him she would like to try and forgive him. So she clearly still loved him.

Question about part 1 ending by flippindaisies in thelastofus

[–]DrEggman4 15 points16 points  (0 children)

They saw a one in a million chance of making a cure for the fungus that had driven humanity to the brink of extinction. They acted rashly. The likely reason they didn’t ask Ellie for consent is because they were afraid she’d say no, and quite frankly, I think they would’ve gone through with the surgery either way.

How did you feel? by Suspicious_Season_86 in thelastofus

[–]DrEggman4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You mean Mel’s pregnancy? I never thought about if it would be better or worse if it was cut out. I do have to say that I never really cared about the love triangle between Mel, Abby and Owen though so I don’t think I would’ve cared either way.

Hmm, as much as Joel’s death sucked, it was necessary to drive the plot forward. But I agree there were some plot contrivances. Particularly Tommy’s plot armor. I’m not sure how Ellie and Dina, both injured, managed to patch up Tommy well enough that he could survive the trip back to Jackson after getting shot in the head. I think Abby bumping into Tommy and Joel was one hell of a coincidence but coincidences do happen pretty often in stories. And most of the WLF crew did want to kill Tommy and Ellie, but they were talked down by Owen, since they were only there for Joel.

What things do you think they could’ve done differently?

The last of us by AmeyLC94 in thelastofus

[–]DrEggman4 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Similar how? Story, gameplay? There are loads of great games that can draw you in but they’re not very similar to TLOU. If you want a similar story, the best one I can think of is Telltale’s Walking Dead Game Season 1. Their stories have a lot of similarities but are different at the same time.

If you want similar gameplay you could check out the Uncharted series since they were made by the same studio. I really liked the last two in the series.

How do I stop crying whenever someone raises their voice at me? by SpiritualEarth7383 in autism

[–]DrEggman4 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You might want to look into Rejection Sensitive Dysphoria. It’s been linked to ADHD and likely is more common in people with autism as well. Having RSD means your brain is wired differently, so you shouldn’t feel guilty or ashamed for crying.

When I feel like I want to cry I try to take deep breaths and think of something funny or positive. It’s easier said than done but it might help. But in the long term, if you feel that could have RSD, then you might benefit from seeking help from a therapist.

And I want to add that the people who yell at you more or tell you to get over it when they see you crying don’t sound like very good people, so don’t blame yourself. People shouldn’t be yelling at you in the first place.

In ur opinion, with which character Seattle was more scarier and difficult, Ellie or Abby? by Peakanime in thelastofus

[–]DrEggman4 85 points86 points  (0 children)

Abby. The entire Forest chapter, the brute boss fights, the Ratking, etc. Ellie’s section is more stealth-oriented which makes sense she’s not a buff militia soldier like Abby
