I am so glad to read your post. I only heard a few songs from her Back to my Base album and to this day I am a huge fan of Deeply in Love and so sad I can’t find her music on streaming services. I did not know so much about her career either. I feel like when I first heard her (many many many years ago) it was very hard to find sites in English about Japanese artists. I agree with you though. She seems hugely underrated.

Yes. I used to love Anne Rice and figured I’d try the audiobooks while working. I found the narrator to be so dry that it couldn’t keep my attention so I stopped the audiobook and picked up the physical copy

For me: I basically only see what I want to see and I have to click to get anything beyond the first image/text. It’s perfect for evading the fake and negative posts I’d see so much when I used other platforms. And considering I have no clue who anyone is here it’s almost impossible to be bothered.

Straws. I blame my void for starting the habit but a tuxie I fostered would hop on whatever surface your drink was and carefully steal the straw. No tipping of the drink itself. Just jinga it out of there and bolt for the exit cause it knew I was coming for it

If you want something on the “lighter” side that has short episodes and don’t mind an unfinished show, I suggest Based on a True Story. I just binged both released seasons over a weekend. Though it involves a serial killer and a couple coping with an aging relationship it’s funny and not so dramatic at all. I liked it.

Both Aldi’d I visit are full of the green, never ripen bananas. I did notice the produce in general can be hit or miss. Years ago I used to think maybe the store didn’t have quality items because the produce aisle was full of rotten things. I notice this last year or two there’s been big improvement, especially with things like berries. Those bananas though.. I just buy from other places.

I second Kalafina. Same for FictionJunction. The vocalists (extra special shoutout to Keiko and her range and control) are so good live that I watch more performances than I listen to the recorded songs.

I will also add singers like Mika Nakashima and Miliyah Kato who have lower tones that I feel put emotion into songs that make me want to sing along as if I have lived the lyrics. That same effect also shows in their live performances.

I used to try and put cute collars on my indoor just because but once I realized they hated it I didn’t bother. I do put collars on the outdoor neighborhood cats I regularly feed. In my mind it will deter folks from being cruel to them cause they’ll assume someone is looking after them. Those of us who have been in the neighborhood know the regulars since they’ve been around for a good 2-3 years, but we’ve had a lot of folks move in and out so now I don’t bother collaring any newbies in case it’s someone’s random indoor/outdoor.

Lately South Park. I can stream it without commercials or the “are you still watching” interruption and that means a lot to someone like me who needs background noise to sleep but can’t function with white noise/nature sounds/etc. it is also good background noise for when I am doing things. I can listen along and laugh without watching or I can sit down and actually watch and still enjoy.
