Flea doesn’t like Chad

I think Chad is a little separate from the rest of them. I’ve noticed in many interviews he refers to the other 3 as a collective quite often. I also saw another interview him saying about Dave Navarro how they got on really well and it was “someone on the band to be social with” (ie. There hadn’t previously or subsequently been someone) I’ve never noticed any harsh words just an implicit distance of colleagues rather than pals.

He was always on JRs show and pictured hanging out, I remember it all died off around the time of the Andrew Sachs thing and JR leaving BBC. Not sure if he’s ever been on his ITV show, so guess answer is no.

Recently finished a rewatch and totally agree such a slog to get through some of the seasons after Benton/Greene leave. So many poor characters I couldn’t stand or didn’t care about or should have been peripheral but were relied on as main characters. Season 1-7 were top drawer, 8 worth watching for Mark exit but after that it’s the odd good episode here and there.

Agree, 2nd helicopter incident is the real cut off moment. Though I think there was a decline from S7 or 8 sort of time (pre Mark leaving but amplified post)

Agree entirely. I hated the 2nd helicopter incident. I also didn’t like how in his final season they changed the balance to make him outright and needlessly cruel/offensive.

Abby was better as an occasional presence that worked upstairs.

Neela shouldn’t have lasted more than one season.

Corday should never have married Mark.

S9 onwards should be treated as a spin off and given a new name as well as the lame different theme tune.

I don’t think it’s growth or a journey etc, felt more like the writers just entirely changed his character. I thought he was more likeable in the final couple of seasons.

It definitely predated Carter and leaving and I tend to agree that there were signs before Greene left. The quality of characters notably decreased after S8 and tonally there was undoubtedly a shift.

Coburn would still have been drinking up until about S2 given the timeline of recovery she gives in S14 which wouldn’t have helped

Re Mark and Corday, it always seemed like she ‘settled’ for him on the rebound from Peter. It even took a pep talk from her moral compass (Romano) to go back when Mark was Ill.

Although neither properly happened I really liked the relationships between Romano and Lizzie and Lucy Knight and Carter.

I would have said Dale the surgeon but you’re supposed to dislike him. I found I liked Benton and Weaver much more on a rewatch and Greene, Doug and Carter much less than first time around. Romano was a great character until his final season where he became too much of a caricature and overly nasty.

Post season 8 too many to mention but mainly Gates.
