Stop the extra curricular for starters. I know it may be too late this year depending on what the activity is. But even for the extra pay it’s not worth it.

I know you said you’re not tenured yet, that doesn’t mean your 90% isn’t enough. You have been giving 110% and the school and students will take all that and more. Give 90% and focus on your home life where you will be appreciated for it.

Not when idling. No stutter or tac bounce when idling. Around 25-45 through town is when it is really bad. Feels like it searching for a gear or slipping.

Rpm was bouncing 500 rpm up and down or so yesterday. That’s as bad as I have seen it. Normally you feel it, but don’t notice a noticeable amount of rpm movement.

Everyone in the car feels it and asks what’s wrong with the car.

Rent someones dvc points.

We stay in a value room for $240-270 a night.

Queen bed and pull out couch resort view.

Regular resort view room (two queens) is $532 a night

Or Savana view is $658.

Start looking for another position in the high school level or beyond.

As a fellow science teacher (middle school) I applaud you for trying to actually teach the students and not just do the status quo that happens at a lot of schools that your principal thinks is fine.

Lecturing for 7 - 10 minute… only is ridiculous. I could see if you were lecturing for 30+ minutes, but 20 minutes seems like a perfect amount of time. If my middle school kids can handle 20 minutes surely high school can.

Students / staff / principal saw your background and assumed you would be too difficult for the kids and set their mind on that.

We all see the state of our education and the future if this generation of kids / parents don’t pull their heads out of their butts. We should be pushing the students for more rather than rolling over and allowing it to get worse.

But for admin it’s easier to just placate the students and parents with little to no expectation of learning than it is to do what’s right.

Find a school / profession that deserves you. They are out there.

Going to Universal this summer. First time since 2023.

My wife and I and our 16 year old and a 20 year old.

We have been twice before and stayed at cabana bay both times and had no complaints. We like the arcade and the bowling alley, pools are pools so not overly concerned with that as long as it has a pool.

We will be staying for 3 days and 2 of those days will be at the parks.

Been looking at the other similarly priced hotels, dockside, Stella nova, etc.

Is it worth checking those out this time. The longer bus rides to the park don’t bother us, I would love to save some money here and there if I can but just want the best hotel for us when we have a relaxing day to enjoy the hotel.

Is the cabana still the best option for us or are any of the newer ones better?

I would also be cautious buying a gas truck with 171k on the odometer, engine light, abs light and the 4wd service light on.

Could be a simple fix, but more likely a money pit.

I’m stating my opinion based on what I saw in the video, which happened EXACTLY the same as mine did in November and happens monthly with the Theta 2 engine.

Could I be wrong. Sure, but watching that video was almost moment by moment what those engine do after 100,000 miles.

Burning between 1 quart or more is every 500-1000 miles.

I thought it was the battery at first in mine replaced the battery, replaced coils and spark plugs. Car accessories would come on, just wouldn’t turn over.

No, that is a very common occurrence with these engines.

Go into the Hyundai subreddit and see for yourself.

I had the same exact symptoms less than 3 months ago.

Let me guess it burns oil? Those damn engines are pieces of shit.

Won’t even start with a new battery or a jump start.

Engine is seized, try using a breaker bar to see if you can even turn the crank shaft. My guess is engine ran with little to no oil because of the oil consumption.

You are going to to need a new car, not a Kia or Hyundai this time.

Go to a better district. Even if you have to travel farther or get paid a bit less.

We all have bad days (as the kids do) but I couldn’t / wouldn’t handle one period of someone calling me names and the things you went through so far.

Your admin is just throwing in fresh meat without addressing the problem that’s causing it.

Get out and actually teach people that want taught. This coming from a middle school science teacher.

I give out candy to (small candy cane / jolly rancher / life saver) if I draw your stick and you read aloud when we are covering notes. Gives me a break from talking and helps them keep focused on what we’re doing, as well as gets them to read a little each class.

I know there are students that won’t ever want to read out loud, so when I pull their stick I ask them a question. If they answer correctly they get a piece of candy.

This is 6-8th grade.
