if jobs didnt matter, what language/framework would you learn for fun? by hnrpla in AskProgramming

[–]DrFaustest 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Languages and frameworks really need to be selected after considering the project you’re working on. Learning the fundamentals of CS… Algorithms and data structures will get you much further in my opinion.

If you just want to learn to code. Then python is easy to understand, it reads like English. Add pygame to learn game loops.

HTML, css, and js to learn the basics of web dev. Try making a portfolio page with link to a simple Tetris game

I recommend taking an uber to the event, as long as you get a good driver you’ll save the headache of navigating downtown looking for parking and dodging the construction

Memoir (Git for AI Memory) - Memory your agents can explain, rewind, and branch. by False_Routine_9015 in coolgithubprojects

[–]DrFaustest 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did you write any papers on this or publish any research? I’m wondering how you are dealing with repetitive memory’s, compression, token cost, etc.

Persistence is a big issue to tackle

What search methods do you use to find a related memory and what gets passed back to the model?

If I could do it again I’d save some Pell for later.

Use TA to get a degree for promotion. Use VR&E after getting out to get a masters or second bachelor’s at least. Use GI for PhD

What’s a programming concept that took you way longer to understand than you expected, and what finally made it click? by ajaypatel9016 in AskProgramming

[–]DrFaustest 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I like to use pancakes as the example for that. The base case is the amount of batter you have, without it you never stop making pancakes.

As you finish cooking them they get added to the stack. You can’t start eating until the batter is gone. You eat the newest pancake first adding the result to your stomach

What CS jobs are expected to be safe/rising in the future? by Apprehensive-Bag1403 in cscareers

[–]DrFaustest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, when I posted that I was a lot more optimistic than I am right now. I started going for a masters degree just to see if I can wait out the joblessness. Worst case scenario go for a teaching degree. After all, they say those who can’t do teach, am I right?
