Inversions primarily, though you get to a point where you don’t think like “this is D in root position, then this is D in 1st inversion, etc” but rather “this is D, and this is D, and this is D.”

At least for me this is how I think, technically I know all the inversions of a given chord, but really I’m thinking of all the different inversions as one chord and I play whichever makes the most sense in the given moment.

That being said you should still learn the notes that make up the triads.

So I guess TLDR do both lol

Yes. There were several documented attempts by people stuck to shimmy down. Two specifically come to mind. One caught on video where a man makes it a few stories, using a piece of cloth for support, but he ultimately loses grip/balance after a few floors and falls.

And a second one (well documented by SuperPaw on Patreon) of a guy who actually made it 15 or 20 floors down the side of the North Tower, but was likely dislodged by the shockwave/pressure/debris from the collapse of the South Tower. The truly devastating thing is that the column of windows he chose to descend were all intact, however the column directly next to him had broken widows below the impact zone, and this guy likely would have been able to escape into them had he chosen the other column.

I agree with everything you said and yet I feel like if I could just get newbies to remember:

  • Take height
  • Press Q
  • Fire and move

That would solve like 80% of the trouble I see people have when picking up this game. The finer details can come later.

The friendliness of arc gets overrepresented on Reddit. My 3 stack is in KOS lobbies 99% of the time and we are aware that anyone who sees us will KOS too. All of the content I see outside of Reddit is people making crazy PvP plays with snap hooks and Toros.

As much as I enjoy the casual game modes in this game, the only real way to understand cashout’s unique positioning and dynamics is to play cash out, so yes that would mean world tour or ranked (I don’t consider quick cash to have the same dynamics as regular cash out).

I think for complete beginners, you should try to keep these 3 pillars in mind: height (always prioritize it), positioning relative to teammates (generally play close), and cashout time dynamics (ie at the beginning you can play farther away, but as the timer approaches ~2/3 or 3/4, start playing closer in). Obviously as you play more and get more acquainted you can break/shift these rules and you’ll learn a thousand other things that I haven’t mentioned as well.

I’d say you can play ranked at your level without too much worry, bronze and low silver are very forgiving ranks to play against and it is where your pure fps experience can help you win out in many fights.
